Electrical fan stays on after jeep is off?

This is an intermintent problem. When I turn off my jeep and take the key out my electrical fan stays on. to make it stop i have to lift the hood and slap the fuse box. This happens about 6 out of 10 time i drive it. it is very annoying having to lift the hood in a parking lot and do this. Normally I would just take out the fan fuse but it is summertime and it gets too hot.

Any help?

What year is the Jeep? If you're hitting the fuse box under the hood, it may be the aux fan relay thats in there. You can get one at Autozone. And if its really hot you may want to wait a few minutes to see if it goes off by itself. They are designed to stay on after shutting off in very hot weather.
