"editing" question

Are we not allowed to edit previous posts? I only get the "edit" option after a recently placed post, but my first post of a thread I start or something I cannot edit. Is this standard procedure or is it cuz im not red or what?

Short time period for editing, and that's for everyone. There have been issues in the past with "wait, you did *NOT* say that originally."

i guess i can understand that, but this is the only forum ive been on to do that. Its just kinda inconvenient...for example, I reorganized my photobucket account and now my original pics in the beginning of a couple threads lost the pics. So in order to repost them, Ill have to just add them to the end of the thread. In my opinion, who cares if someone lies about what they previously said on an online forum I guess...Just an opinion...I love the forum anyway, just something I find frustrating...ha. Thanks.
