Set out this morning with high hopes

about an hour later I hear a snap, got out, checked everything and the fender flare was rubbing on the rear tire, pulled it back up and kept driving, then 5 mins later another snap and can't move forward, all while 3 feet from a 60 foot drop.......

found this

snapped the fixed bumpstop (not pictured) which collapsed the shackle and snapped the main leaf spring, axle shifted back on drivers side and driveshaft popped out. ended up sawzalling the fender flare off and towing it "home"

I know it's not a jeep but my boss said it's a good thing I drive a piece of shit jeep so I knew how to "fix" it and get it back in almost one piece, considering it had about $7000 worth of chemical in it when this all went down was pretty shitty

hope you all had a better day, working on my liver currently

haha like!

I was gonna say, that inner fender doesn't look very XJ like... hahaha!

Haha I fix Cushmans for a living.

mechanic is on vacation for another week if you want to come up and take care of this piece of crap

I was impressed by how open the wheel well became without the flare though, TONS of flex

I work on a course as well, I was towing a greens roller with a 70's cushman 3 wheeler that has the repower kit haulin ass, the axle nut and woodruff key backed off on the passenger side and I lost the wheel tire and drum at about 15mph LOL that was a fun one to get back into the shop!

to be fair I am technically off roading 10-12 hours a day

P.S. any chance your driveway might be free anytime soon?

it has a big red truck and camper parked in it for the forseeable future (not my idea :-( ) whatcha need to do? I may have a new carreer clearing downed pine trees very soon....ugh..... glad both my saws run ok.

tranny cooler, front main seal and detours tailbone install :viking:......I'll trade you your time for some help with the trees, if I'm not too busy at work with the chipper
