If you've seen my other posts you would know i finally have my 00 back on the road w/ the 4" hybrid kit that DPG sold. I Had SVE performance jeep of milford install a SYE and Tom Wood d/s for me b/c i didnt want to screw up the measurements, he also said he put in a 5 degree axle shimm...well i'm happy w/ it in the way of not having vibes right up to around 45mph. After that it seems like there is still somethign minor there...not sure being a novice at this driveline stuff if i'm overexaggerating or if there is enough vibe there to cause damage in the future....should i go back to sve and tell him there are still vibes...(i asked him when i picked it up and he told me he drove it and there were NO vibes)..is anyone ever in the southern ct area that might want to go for a ride to let me know if i'm safe or not? Thanks for any input or volunteers.

i'll suggest going back to SVE and have him ride with you.. show him what you are concerned about... Eagle isnt in the area currently.. if i were closer i'd help ya out but i cant get down there anytime soon.. some of the "vibes" you are feeling might be the new tires..(i assume you went with new larger tires with the lift..) check out that other local club/site i told you about... maybe someone down there will volunteer to help you..

Take it back, sounds as if it needs slight additional tweaking......
Did he mark the position of the driveshaft to the rear end? If your willing,
unbolt it from the rear end & rotate it 1 half turn & rebolt.......dosent sound
like much, but sometimes that will do it.

Where abouts in southern Ct are you?
Im in the Clinton/North Branford area......

Bill at SVE is a great tech, and a very reasonable guy, explain to him what you are experienceing, try to be very specific about where you sense the vibration, from the floor, in the steering from the rear (of the Jeep) and at what speeds you start feeling it - it has a lot to do with where its coming from, once he can tell what it is you are talking about, I am pretty sure that he will be able to address you questions about the vibes you are getting. I know he will stand by his work , so you wont have a problem in that department at all. I'm about an hour from you, but if you wanted to come by, we could go for a test ride to try and sort out what vibes are happening.

cool, thanks guys....i'm in Milford, its about 5 min. from the water and about 15 min. south of New Haven. I'll call SVE tomorrow and explain the problem first and then i'll go from there. I'll let ya know if he says there is no problem or not then i'll be looking for more opinions. Thanks again.

Yeah, if I were at home I'm not that far from Milford, but I'm away for awhile. I would go back and ask Bill to take a ride with you. Before you go, be sure you know what induces the vibes. Usually they happen under acceleration OR deceleration, as a result of the axle twisting the springs. If you have it under both acceleration AND deceleration, something else may be going on.
