nope. the na's were a 10:1 while the TT's were 8:1, mine is a NA converted, they came with t4's but the europ models had 9b's. they also had DSM's while mine is a FMIC.tealcherokee said:ROTFLMAO

Im just saying that im working on turboing my renix jeep, and ALOT has to be messed with to get the computer to figure out what the hell is going on

Amund2 said:Drifting is GAY? Jesus Christ, what's wrong with you guys??? Is it because you don't have a clue how to handle a car? I am buiding a tube rockcrawler and that's gonna be cool, but when that's done I'm saving up for something serious sideways action. Drifting and rallying is the coolest things you can do with a car IMO, I do it to my jeeps whenever I have the chance (i.e. wet pavement, snow or gravel), but to make it work on dry pavement will not be easy. You saw how the black one ended up.
I've been pondering using an XJ too, stroker, manual tranny, locked rear axle, some serious brakes, but seeing that rollover kind of wrecked my plansI think an MJ will be too much wheelbase, but the XJ is pretty well balanced when the grip is low enough. You'd have to lower the crap out of it though, and I'd still be afraid of rolling
(I actually got my XJ up on three wheels in a roundabout once, pretty exciting
)

he already admitted that the only point of this thread is to publicly jack off about an idea in his head and that the e-brake questions was only thrown in as an excuse.karter74 said:i'm really surprised on how one sided people really are on this forum. The guy asked a simple question, how to relocate the E-brake to the transmission tunnel, he never asked for anyones approval on what he plans on doing with his car. You guys have all jumped his case telling him that trying to drift a jeep is stupid, and that drifting in general is dumb, yet not one person has actually answered his question.
For the person who said no americans can drift well, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Since drifting is so gay I guess you never kept up with the drivers and their rankings, realizing that an American driver has won the past few D1 championships....WITH AN AMERICAN CAR! jimmythecow can drift his jeep if he wants, and I bet he'll have a lot of fun doing it. Hell, a good friend of mine you may have seen (Michael Peters) drifted an El Camino his rookie year and got 8th place in the championship points, earning him rookie of the year.
I'm sorry that I can't help with your question on the e-brake, but I just couldn't believe the amount of people here bashing on someone for wanting to do something different. You guys just need to chill out and stop bitching

No its notzfinger said:Drifting is cool
240 is a piece of shitzfinger said:I'm all for it and I do it. But thats why I have a Nissan 240sx. The Jeep is for running shit over, the Nissan is for driving sideways.
Funny, thats the ONLY thing that people complain about when drifting 240s (built ones)zfinger said:Honestly, find yourself an old 240sx, the weight balance is perfect to get it sideways and keep it sideways.
That might be truezfinger said:I have a feeling the MJ has the torque to get sideways, but the weight isn't right, and it'll come right around on you. That and the center of gravity is too high.
How the hell do you figure??? why wont a solid axle spin the tires?zfinger said:Independant rear suspension is important for drifting too
Track barzfinger said:you may find yourself with your leaf springs laying sideways.
You need a motor with a long, flat torque curve, to break the wheels free, and KEEP them spinning and the car (truck) moving. You only need high revving when the motor doesnt make any power until 5000 rpm. when the jeep breaks them free at 1200-1500 rpm, you can just drift in a higher gearzfinger said:That and you need a high RPM motor, such as something Japanese made.
