Drift jeep? (mj)

I have been saving up $ for a turbo kit for my MJ for a while now and im almost there. I plan on lowering my stock MJ, putting in a roll cage, little bawled tires, a few cheap racing bucket seats, and drift the living crap out of it.

asaik i havent seen anyone else do this. i know to some this is sakraligious (SP) to the jeeps, but hey! this is the right thread.

anyone else offer any ideas for modifying the e-brake to a standard center point pull brake? thnx in advance!

Let me see if I have translated this correctly.

You want to drift an MJ. To do so you plan on running undersized bald tires, a lowered suspension, a turbo, and want advice on how to put your e-brake on the transmission tunnel?

the bald tires are easy, lowering is easy, a turby is easy. i pretty much put in the e-brake becasue i realized i didnt have a real Q in the thread. and felt it was pointless to just tell people what im doing till i actually do it. (i also have a cold and drank a lot of nyquil)

any advice on the turby system? i have only found a few so far, i do plan on running a ghetto $20 fart can muff w/ no cat tho... i know its going to be funny as all heck, but hey... who knows. it might be fun to take to my local drift event and see what it can do ;)

I do not condone your activity, but will offer this advice:

You should stiffen the rear springs or add a traction bar to get it to cleanly break the rear loose without hopping. And get a stronger rear end.

I plan on a dana44 and either weld the rear so its LOCKED! (sucks for driving) or find an LSD off e-bay, used or not...

as for the rear end, i plan on a few things to stiffen it, just hope i can weld better than i can type, (i can)

if you want to lower it and race it, great. but drifting is lastara

you probably camped out for a midnight showing of this, huh?

Bout time some one said it. Racing jeeps is one thing. But drifting!?!

i respect your decision because its your vehicle and you can do with it what you wish.

where does it say jeeps are only for offroad use only. If you want a drifting jeep, you build it.

Good Luck

setting up a turbo system is easy huh.....i expect to see a blown motor with in 500 miles

twin 9b's in my 3000gt, ross pistons, shot peened rods, titanium valve springs, 340 injectors, yadda yadda yadda... 12psi.

on the jeep i plan on 6psi, and i doubt i'll blow this engine. im just worried about my tranny. im looken at an ax15

my mistake, I didn't wish to communicate that drifting a Jeep is lastara , what I meant is that all drifting is lastara

(and if you're going to take offense to that, you better also start figuring out how to be PC regarding gays)
