DOORS???

Anyone know if a 96 or prior front door will match up and replace a 2000 model door. I know there are body changes but not sure about doors.I need to replace my front driverside door

I know I read a while ago that you could swap 97+ doors onto an older one as an "upgrade". Which doesn't make sense to me because how could losing vent windows be an upgrade?

I think the main difference is the hinges.

Strikers are placed differently, other than that they interchange

Im pretty sure they also have a different skin so they will look different

Same skin. Switching the MJ out to 99 XJ doors.

Body lines all match up, hinges are different. But still interchangeable, again striker bolts are in different places, so unless you want to chop and weld on your B pillars they are not.

Thanks for the replies... guess I'll look for 87 or newer. Mine is functional just tree damage that bugs me
I'd appreciate you all keeping an eye out for one for me on the forums or in a JY. I will travel.... especially for a white one... need power but does not need to be working as I can salvage from mine
