I like using DOM for the simple reason that it is easy to sleeve at joints. Depending on cage design, you may have the need to sleeve a couple of joints with one size smaller tube. DOM makes this easy. HREW forces you to grind a groove in your sleeve.

I have welded 4130 with a MIG...

maybe you could post some more pictures of those parts you welded so we could see how it's done :scared:

Notice the beauty, excellence and non spatter of the properly executed TIG welding on these pieces of 4130. Penetration is guaranteed as well is aesthetics and no clean up.

Oh hum...cant please everyone, but you are entitled to your opinion.

The welder works for a govt. contracted company that supplies components to the airforce and makes components for stealth aircraft...but he cant weld....if you say so.


On another note, I should take this act on the road look that the number of views....XJguy attacking is becoming a very popular sport, pretty soon Ill start charging admission so get your shots in while they are free!

big fawkin deal.....we get so-called "certified welders" coming in all the time that spout off a list of credentials that would rival that claim....

can they weld? sure, some of them can, and others couldn't mig a good bead to save themselves from death. The best welders we have aren't even certified....they either have raw talent, or have been doing it a long time
