The government has taken a fairly hands off approach by allowing market forces to dictate supply. That works out great for the few suppliers that have stuck it out and continue to produce the vaccine, but now we lose one of those suppliers and the government has a public health crisis (some say) on their hands. Should something that protects public health and safety be left soley to free market?
Beats me, but my point was that it's easy for each side to blame the other side because they both pretty much dropped the ball on this one.
Incorrect! The "shortage" is not a shortage at all. Thank the media for drumming up the "lack" of flu shots. Last year we had a "shortage" according to the media, when it was all said and done and they had moved onto another story, there were 30K flu shots that sat around and went bad. There is no shortage this year, the flu season hasn't begun and these batches are just the first shipments. If anyone "dropped the ball" on this one, it would be the CDC, not the parties. Politics doesn't play a part in the CDC, get your facts straight. For the past 30 years, there has been an over production of flu vaccines. There will be this year, too. Thank you, media for starting a panic! Thank you Democraps for showing how you will try to take advantage of Senior Citizens and Children for your own gains. Give me a break...
