Dems pulling out all the stops...

How is the CDC at fault if they forecasted they needed X number of vaccines, but then the supplier can't meet that number?

The HHS website I'm looking at (hhs.gov) says they have enough vaccine and antivirals to cover 40 million people (potentially). That's 60 million doses with 2.6 of those 60 not coming online until Jan. 05. Apparantly 30 million doses have already been distributed. Where did you see 100 million? :dunno:

HHS Secretary Tommy G. Thompson said today that about 60 million doses of influenza vaccine combined with an ample supply of antiviral medicines -- potentially enough for more than 40 million people during the flu season -- puts America in a strong position to keep people safe during the upcoming flu season.

60+40=100?

Who said I was getting a flu shot?
I did not. I just suggest that you not get one. If you are not getting one, good for you. I think they are a Democratic sham against the American people. They want the elderly and poor to get them... and are trying to scare them by trying to blame the President. Last I looked, he does not manufacture the stuff. But a funny talking Congressman from Masshole wants to blame him? Why not blame Congress? They make laws no? They can pass a law that dictates what the private sector must do. Oh yeah... that is the Dem's thing.... tell us "when, where and how". No thanks. I will let private business run private business. Let supply and demand dicate the market, not some goofy talking fool from Mass.. Kerry on. Pardon the pun.

Well you cant blame G.W.. He didn't go and contaminate the supply. To bad the people that manufature it get sued by guys like...oh say JOHN EDWARDS...and then they don't want to make it anymore driving us to go outside the US to solve our problems once again...

No need for Kerry-Edwards to be concerned about a vaccine shortage. After they make the crippled walk the'll cure the sick. Takes care of any health care problems also. TC

Sorry for the hack Chris, but John started it first...

Gotcha, I was reading that wrong I guess. I thought that the 60 million doses combined with the antiviral medicines was enough for 40 million people rather then JUST the antiviral medicines being enough for 40 million people.

No, you can't blame him for contaminating it. I guess about the only thing you could blame him for is not having a back up plan. I did read somewhere that he's increased funding for something flu related (research maybe?) by quite a bit.

Like I said earlier, I think they both look kind of funny blaming each other on this one.

I still haven't heard Bush blame Kerry about this. And I don't think there should be blame laid on Bush for no back up plan. That's like blaming your boss because you can't find your socket wrench in your garage.

I didn't say Bush has blamed Kerry. He has, however, placed the blame on trial lawyers...which are part of this problem.

If your boss (or you if you're your own boss) knows about a potential weakness in a system that many people rely on, does he ignore it or address it?

Does your boss have the ability to do anything about it? If you are allowed to run your own work area can your boss really come in and tell you how to do it?

Let me rephrase to clear up confusion.

You telling your boss(at the office where you work in the IT department) because you can't find your socket wrench in your garage(doing work on your own time).

oh ho, it would appear we were all confused....I got the main idea, but missed the process to get there.

I get it.
It's like asking for those(Osama and other Saudis) that perpetrated 9/11 be brought to justice, and you're told to look in Iraq's garage--you just can't do it.

Yeah, that or asking Kerry where his medals are..."I threw them over the wall", "You still have them", "I threw someone elses over the wall.", "That is a federal offense", "I threw the ribbons from the medals over the wall". Just like that, right....sheesh

Think the focus might be a little narrow here. Follow the time line, when the Iatola Kummeni (returned from exile in FRANCE), then fast forward, to the American hostiges in the Tehran Embassy for 444 days, fast forward to the Iraq Iran war, then the bombing of the reactor (supplied by FRANCE) by the Israeles. Fast forward to the spread of Muslim fundamentalism, from Georgia, through Africa, most all of the middle east and through the spice islands, clear into the Phillipeans and with a growing number of supporters in most of the world.
Is it possible, Iraq is strategicaly important. Most all of the other countries(our so called allies) in the area are unreliable, Saudi, Turkey etc. Putting strong American presence in a volitile area, seems prudent. And in the process disposing a pain in the ass dictator, that had a habit of waring with his nieghbors, was shooting at our planes, planning new meaness, tried to assasinate an American president and was probably on the way out anyway. When Sadam finally went down, who was waiting to take his place, Iran?
Is it possible Iraq is actually a pretty nifty, end run, to park some blockers next door, to heart of the problem.
Many orientals, kind of laugh at the U.S. because there attention span seems so short.
Heard Kerry got the endorsement from the American Islamic coalition (or some such organization). I wonder if the Republicans paid them to endorse Kerry :confused1 that´s got to go over big with the traditional democratic Jewish voters.
This election is getting nuts. 92% of Egyptions, surveyed, support Kerry. Osama i´sn´t really the cause, more an effect of the problem. He needs to be taken care of, but there may be larger issues here.
Heard Kerry make some promises today, I really couldn´t believe, seems he has the cure for all the worlds ills He is either full of it, or he is the second coming or thinks he is.

The issues are most certainly complex.

Religious fanatacism seems to spread as a result of perceived injustice, or disparity. The rest of the world has a different view of the US, than it does of it self--particularly the secular states. That needs to be addressed.

Sadam may have been a PIA, but I don't believe he was worth the resources that have been allocated. It is the majority of the American people who must make both physical, and financial sacrifices -- while a select few profit greatly(cough..12(0) billion and growing..cough..Haliburton).

The one bullet solution might have been the best option. But, then again, who would have taken his place as the head of Iraq. It's sad to say, but tyrany may have been a better option than to attempt an externally 'influenced' democracy. As for a strategic move, again, I don't think it's worth the cost, especially when it's carried on the backs of 'ordinary' Americans.

The Middle East must resolve its own issues. Intervention has never worked, and probably never will. Help those that help themselves ??

I think there is way too much emphasis on whether you are a Democrat, or Republican, and not enough of actually discussing/examining the issues. Mind you, it's the multi-nationals, and the lobbyists that end up making the selection anyway.

Both sides will sling as much mud as required, or atleast as much as their strategists tell them to. There is alot of crap from both sides--no one side is telling the whole truth. If you are going to criticize, you should both sides.

This would be a much different, and hopefully much better race if it were Clark and McCain, rather than Bush and Kerry. Hopefully will will see that in '08. I think Dems and Reps would find much more common ground with those two. And, would elect a leader that would uphold the interests of all Americans.

Unfortunately, Mr. Bush did not fulfill his promise of being the great uniter.

But Mr Kerry is doing a fine job of stepping, unasked, into the role of great divider...

Yeah, they said the same about Hitler...

Haliburton made more money with the Clinton adminstration in office then under Bush. Get your facts...cough...straight.

Japan bombs the hell out of our Navy, we attack Germany first...all you Democraps would have bitched about that, too. I guess the mass graves, gassing his own people and using chemical weapons on Iran and attempted to use them on Israel only constitutes him as a PIA. It was enough for us to go into Germany for...oh...wait...we didn't know Hitler was doing all that crap in the concentration camps...we found out when we got there. The evidence is there, the media isn't picking it up because they are all in the sinking ship called John F'in Kerry. Not one channel is talking about the brand new Mirage fighter planes found burried in the dessert over in Iraq, must not exist...Wake up and buy a clue...
