Okay my Jeep keeps switching over to defrost when I'm driving i will set it for vent or feet and it swiches over to defrost by itself happens on a/c or heat. Its seems to swich back to the proper place upon deceleration so i assume its vacume related. when it pulls more vacume at higher rmps it will swich back over to defrost very annoying. Went on vacation it was 95 out side and cool air was coming out the defroster. Also when i turned off the A/C i get water leaking out under my dashboard i dont think the 2 are related though. Anyone else ever had this problem

thanks for the help Jay

sounds like a bad heater core?

It's vacumn related. You have a leak somewhere. My heep unfortunately suffers from the same thing. I have been unable to find the leak up to this point.

Can anyone explain how to use the vacumn tool to find a leak? I've looked and looked, nothing stands out. Surely there must be a more "scientific" way of finding a vacumn leak.

Only the A/C leaks water after being used it leaks when shut off. No problems with the heater core. I think the box has come unsealed. The defroster is really annoying though. I wanted to be cooled off and my air keeps switching over to the defroster vent on my last trip it was like 95 degrees it sucked :gonnablow

For me it was a leaking vac hose leading into the vac. bottle (black football under right front of the bumper). Check to see for cracks in bottle, or hose loose, also the hoses run up behind the battery and can get rubbed through. g/l
Don.

I think i will probably need to check the vac res as i just moved it. I also broke off the tabs a few weeks ago maybe there is a crack that i didnt see. Yeah i changed bumpers and lip tied it to the bumper but it flew off so maybe its go a crack i didnt see.
