Not leaving there at 9, meeting for breakfast. We may be there sooner, not sure how long it will take to get there.

Sometimes when you least expect it....2xtreme said:Body damage is ALWAYS a possibility, but much less likely on this trip.
40 minutes!? From Pacific to the DC? It's a full 70 miles from Tacoma.... Did you recently install some JATO bottles you had laying around...?CanMan said:Should take us 40 minutes or so to get there.
Matt, John, anyone else coming from the south, if you want to caravan up to the DC, meet on the onramp on hwy 167, Pacific/Algona exit, at 0800hrs. If not give my cell a call, and we can possibly meet you on 167 farther north. 253-332-3809.

As to the convoy, I'm not sure, but I'll probably want sleep more than breakfast.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Sounds like you're pretty well set. Only thing I make sure to emphasize is having warm clothes, good boots that will keep water out, and some supplies in the off-chance that we have to spend the night.Cherikon said:Matt-
Do y'all have any other requirements for a trail outing. I don't have any spare tie rod ends or u-joints, but I don't think it will be that serious. I could be wrong though.

The wheeling will just be a really snowy road, but conditions change and bad things can happen. I learned that Semper Peratus isn't just the Coast Guard motto, it's something to live by.
I remember on last year's run we had a really easy time on the way in, but as the sun went down conditions changed and things got a lot more difficult. (Trip Report from last year) I also recently had a snow wheeling trip go from a "home by 3 p.m." into an all night nearly scary debacle; Trip Report. It was still fun, but only because we were all prepared to spend the night if it came down to it...and it very nearly did.
Other than that, you should do fine.

Perfect. Oh, and IF Adam shows up (he's still on the fence) he usually has plenty of gear, should it come down to it.Cherikon said:Luckily for me and the wife, anytime we travel up north, we take plenty of water/food/supplies. We always bring our sleeping bags and extra blankets- so thanks again for the heads up. I will make sure to bring the heavier jackets and lots of hot hands and other camping equipment.
