Dana30 high-steer knuckle two-piston calipers

Today I finished the right knuckle model with high-steer and two-piston Akebono's calipers from Mitsubishi Pajero 2-nd generation. Now I am looking for steel foundry. This knuckle is dedicated for XJ/ZJ Dana30 axle

Hubs - original XJ/ZJ, original XJ/ZJ rotors are a little too small, but very little, and I wonder to build custom rotors perfectly matched for this setup

what about sport trac rotors like in the wj knuckle swap?

The foundry is going to ask you if that is the final sized part or not, otherwise you are going to have to build that part up with bondo and sand it to get the mold the right size because it is going to shrink.

Also, you have to have the proper draft angle and venting to even do a sand casting of that part..which makes you have to pour the part differently and make the mold differently as well.

Been there and done that one, it was a heck of a learning process to figure out which is the best route to go about something without beating up tooling on machines to make it a finished part.

Lessons learned from casting steel parts here in the states.

Booooooooooy is there a learning curve when you go to cast a part and figure out precisely how it needs to be gated and how to chuck it up in a machine and not cream a 50-70 dollar end mill or tool in a lathe. That shit gets expensive QUICK.

The small collets we used in the tool holders were stupid expensive. Like 800 bucks for a .250" collet.

What collets you buying? I get er32 collets all day for 60 to 70 bucks.
