I'm running Alloy USA 33-spline D44 shafts. And I need to know where to get replacements...if I ever need to.

I'm running Alloy USA 33-spline D44 shafts. And I need to know where to get replacements...if I ever need to.

It was a lot. But I got them dual drilled for 5x5.5 and 5x4.5, access hole, and all hardware.


If I were to do it again, I might have just ordered Yukon shafts to keep as the spares since they would most likely just be used to get me off the trails and home. Then I would be swapping the warranted Alloys back in.

Sorry to scare this back up, but this came up in my search. Are the ring and pinion the same in a tj 44 and a xj 44. The guys above said the shafts were the same, perhaps only differences in length. I am looking at buying some gears out of a tj 44.

All LP D44 gearsets are the same for the most part(less the new wrangler axles and the D44A).

Alright, one more question. I found a tj rubicon locker with gears. It is the rubicon air locker. The new issue of JP magazine raved about this locker. It says that this locker runs off of 3-5 psi. Is this the same pressure that the ARB runs? Can I just get an ARB or similar compressor to run this. Has anyone put this set up in a xj dana 44? I am paypalling the guy tomorrow so please, any help would be appreciated.

The TJ air lockers run off less air pressure than an ARB locker if I remember correctly.

I have a buddy with a TJ that put a Rubi front locker, in his 99 TJ D44 rear, but the 03 and up D44s were changed a little for the locker, one of the bearing caps need to be trimmed for the actuator, and of course a hole drilled for the air line to come in. Though I think I remember hearing him say that only the front locker will swap in to a pre 03 D44, the rear locker/LSD won't fit. Might want to ask around in some of the TJ forums about it.
