Better hurry up Goatfest is less then 2 months away!!! - Dam straight...... I'll do my best eh.

were you locked in the rear?

Jon:
No I was not locked in the rear. At least not that I know of, I have an ARB and the switches can get bumped. I didn't hear the compressor come on. I will check that when I see the rig again.

I am on pain killers right now and I am still a little on edge about the whole incedent. For those of you who have wheeled with me before, you know A) I don't drink while I'm wheeling, B) I don't hot dog my rig and C) I would never put my passengers in any danger, ESPECIALLY my son.

I came around a corner on a fire road going maybe 20 to 25, the back end slid out, I tried to correct it (Counter steer) and somehow ended up an embankment and rolling. I hit the brakes and tried to stop and we kept sliding. My brother said it felt like we accelerated into the hill. Not sure how that would happen, it all happened so fast. After I got my son and brother out of the Jeep I was more concerned about my son than the Jeep so I didn't take any time to inspect anything. So I can't tell if anything failed or if something came loose.

All I care about is that my son is OK. Jeeps are replaceable, people aren't - well not according to my wife, she can upgrade my sorry ass anytime - hahaha

Sorry if this sounds defensive, I feel really bad about what happen and I am proably being over sensitive to some of the questions. Still feel free to ask anything you want....

I think anyone one with a kid in the car would feel the same way. I dont have kids but i feel the same way about passengers.

Mark you suck!

You can't drive worth a crap!!

Not even Sober!!!

You made a mistake and killed your Jeep!!!!

Your better off now, your Rig was junk anyway!!!!!!!!

You and yours are OK, thats all that matters at the end of the day!
Now put your purse down, grab a cold beer and get over it. You know this kind of crap happens all the time, fire roads can be worse then trails.

Oh and it is not the same as Clayton's roll, he was not at falt when he totaled his junk!!! .!. :D .!.

Glad to hear everyone is ok. Sucks that was a real clean jeep. If you need any help with anything I would be glad to help. I am sure you know but remember to bring ads from similar jeeps or even a blue book from a dealer to get the most out of insurance.

Josh

Hey at least now you dont have to worry about fixing that hatch. Besides once you fawk the hatch up, the jeep begins its downward slope, you just quickened the process. If you do part it all out, I'll take the tranny off your hands.

I was just saying the same thing - It was on it's way out anyways - hahaha

Tranny is yours Benny Ben. We can arrange a time to get together and rip it out once I get it back.

Too bad about the Jeep, good news about the peeps. I hope you'll be up by next years Deer Valley run. I am hoping to have mine ready for that to be my first run. Oh by the way, I'm Rich, the friend of Ed's (hiimmred) that has been to the last two Deer Valley runs (as a passenger) that you have put together in June.

Again, glad to hear you son and brother are OK.

Damn dude, that sucks.
Good to hear you guys came out of it relatively unharmed.
I wish you good luck, Mark.

Good idea - Thanks for the info.

Yer welcome - it's kind of a codification of the various "Kharma Threads," a central repository for small parts, and I'm really not limiting it to XJs only, or even Jeeps only - I'll take parts for any 4WD, and even AMCs and Binders (which have almost as rabid a following as us.)

I just kicked it open about a month ago, so it's still trying to get started up. If you gimme a handful of parts, I give you a handful of cards you can redeem for parts from the exchange later, so we won't have to keep track of what went in and what comes out (need a part later, gimme back a card and I give you the part. Easy!)

Rich - Thanks man. I definitely plan on still putting together hte Deer Valley Run, with or without an Rig. I'm a part of NAXJA regardless and this run just started to take off....

Thanks Jes, I really appreciate that bud. I plan on just taking my time and learn from my previous build. I am considering going back to 33's simply due to it being a DD.

wow thats sucks Mark but it can be replaced glad to hear everyone else is ok you get better then we will see you down the trail again hang in there

Got a couple of pix from my bro. He took them while he was waiting for the tow truck.
