Which would make the housing a hybrid of a D44 center section with D30 tubes.

You're right: '03, so back to original question/statement. It's an unknown axle with unknown lineage.

Dana 44s were never an option for a front axle in wranglers until the Rubicon.

Either this guy has no idea what he's got, maybe a Rubi axle that's been retrofitted, or it's a custom axle.

Ummm yeah, D44 was an option for the rear on Sport and some other higher up model, but it was never an option for the front.

well for all argumentitive reasons that is not entirely correct. They were options in over sea versions of the TJ in the front BUT I would not expect to ever see one here in the america's.

I would also bet its a D30 and the guy has no idea what a ARB even really is, well he proved that I guess already.

AFAIK it was an option in overseas XJ's not TJ's.
