Cone Filter Heat Shield

Hey MX Thanks Thanks for the help with posting the pics I can not get the pics to work but i can put up the links which I guess works. I dont know how far you live from me but if you want use the template to make one let me know not the best looking but looks better then some of the other stuff i saw

I had a k&n in the stock swithed back to the that set up a couple of days ago and could feel the differance lost some power and pick up went hell.
That is why I went back to the cone and thought the Shield would help block some heat and dirt.

Okay your links are right, but when u go to post it click the little landscape picture above (on ) and put the link in there. Then they will show up. When I quote you, I change it to that. Looks sweet man. I am gunna tackle this project sooon

Drove for about a half an hour to work with the new shield and the filter was much cooler the it normaly is dont know if it feels any better the without the shield. But it has to be taking in cooler just by touch.

Thinking of putting a little scoop over the box to pull cooler air in any imput on this would be cool.

I made a really ghetto one yesterday that needs to be cleaned up. I wont post pictures because frankly I am embarrased :laugh3:

It makes all the diff like I said the filter feels much cooler after driving It is takin in more cool air when moving. When you let it idol it still gets hot because the shield heats up I will put dyno mat on the outside soon.

If you want the template let me know. If you follow it it comes out good and seals nice.

Well here is the final product the only thing I will change is the seal along the top I ordered a seal kit form K&N Sould be here soon.

Thanks for all the help MX finaly figured out ho to post pics.

Some one else was asking for the template so let me know if you want it or not. I may try to make some paper templates if any one is interested.
For a hack like me this worked out damn good.
