.com to .org forwarding

...and why exactly is that a problem? Why should the club pay for two domains?

For the same reason Yahoo! has www.yahoo.com, www.yaho.com and www.yahooo.com ....to make sure when you want to get to NAXJA, you get there. Some people out there are dumb as stumps and don't know that there is such a thing as .org or anything other than .com for that matter.

I just thought I'd let someone know.

It is probably just a routing issue. Glenn was doing some server changing and it probably didn't get caught. He has been in and out of town, helping with the huricane victims. Give it some time.

I see, so we pay so even the intellectually challenged get it. Perhaps we should grab "wwwnaxja.org" and "wwwnaxja.com" as long as we're shooting low ;)

Kinda OT:
So... Why isn't Langer's name Red if he's a member ?

naxja.org and www.naxja.org are DNS issues. naxja.org is a domain registration issue. They are not related, except you need to hav the domain to administer DNS for it (not technically, but otherwise).

For example, if they were to point naxja.com to my DNS server, I could handle the request for that domain, and point it (forward the client) to naxja.org, even if I dont OWN the domain. It can be done about 20 different ways. But you have to have access to the registar DNS server settings first (DirectNIC, InetNIC, GoDaddy, etc..)

HTH,
Andrew

I didn't put any "dots" between the "www" and the "naxja.org", and no, it wasn't a typo.
Not a DNS issue, but a separate domain name :)
