Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Getting Ash's truck prepped for more mountain driving. Read: dark roads with lots of wildlife and other potential problems on the road.
Snagged a 22" single row from Justin on partial trade for her old tires that will get mounted between the grill and bumper where there is a dead space. Brackets are currently on order.
Also orders up some morimoto stuff to replace her factory stuff. The factory tacoma lights are a projector lense so swapping in some hid's. Going with a white/yellowish color. Went hid vs led on the headlights since the led don't warm the lense like hid do and tend to freeze over in real cold and wet weather (which she will see more of). Also ordered some of the xb fogs to replace her factory dogs as well. They come with a yellow film to get a better bad weather color. Plus the cutoff on those are amazing and keep a real wide spread for down in the ditch and valleys. Stoked to get everything in and on. With those and the new lift and tires she should be set for about whatever.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

This morning we get the "find my phone" working...... accurate within 2,643 meters. The area on the map is bigger than the entire city of Wymore.....and the yard is 6 miles south of town, outside the area the app says my phone should be.

Remotely wiped and locked it. Submitted a claim with Asurian, $149 and I get a new phone to my home monday.

Those parts cost me $370.......lol

Using the find my iPhone app it should make a loud ringing radar sound even if the phone is on silent....

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Anyone have ...really good...shops to recommend for gear installs...In a few months I may upgrade my 60's guts with d70 gears doing the Jantz Jana76 .I don't want a shop that can barely do a basic gear set up fubaring a custom install ...lol...I want to pay for it once and have dobe right once .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Is Dutch still around?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

When he set up my gears, he told me he was getting tired of the (stupid) people aspect of doing side work.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

That'll do it. Stupid, stupid people.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Once I'm done with the projects I have on hand (truck, couple things on the buggy, trailer, and project XJ)...I might start doing side projects again.

Though the stuff I've limited myself to is basic, easy stuff that can't/won't break, and I can rip out in a very reasonable time frame fabrication wise (ski/board rails mainly).

From there i'll see what I feel like doing to make some extra cash on the side, whether it be flipping a Jeep every once in a while, or basic stuff like above, or...well if I had the money...CNC Plasma Table :D

Phone drama update.......

Couple days after the trip, I've torn my truck apart looking for the damn Olds oil dipstick I had snagged. My cousin seemed to recall he had put it in the cab behind the pass. seat. Nowhere to be found. WTF?!?!?

So Thursday morning I get a call...... it's the guy from the salvage yard in Nebraska. He found my phone. It was on the dirt driveway of the entrance to the yard, 20 feet inside the gate........ My cousin and I must have walked past it 4 times going to and from my truck while we were there. Effing hell.

So, while I had the guy on the phone, I asked if by chance he'd seen that dipstick and tube I snatched from that Olds 330 block. He chuckled....... "Yeah, as a matter of fact, I just saw it.... it's propped up against the frame of the office door". I had set it there when digging out cash for the parts....

He's gonna mail the damn things to me. Dunno what I can do with the phone as we sent the command to wipe and lock.

:banghead:

I break and or lose at least Two phones a year...last one I tossed out the window when I thought Nebraske state patrol was turning around to come ticket me as I thought he spotted me on the phone without hands free ...lol...hucked it out and all he was doing was turning into the median to run radar...lol...not learned my lesson after that and I have a confrence call set up and head set but still insist on holding the phone . Anyway due to my phone loss per year I never soend mire than $100 on a phone .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well it's official. I'm no longer a resident of the front range. Aside from gradually moving things over this month, my time on that side of the hill will be limited to visits.
Work offered me same pay to go do way easier work in the mountains, and I found a deal on a house over here, so I bout the place here in Montrose.
Keys to know. Garage is insulated and finished, patio is big enough to cook and drink with a handful of folks. So it's a win win.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Right on... When is the housewarming? I love Montrose, fairly small town, great climate, close to the San Juans and the grand mesa. Congrats

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Haha. Prolly November because I won't have anything there until then. Of course open doors to (most) naxja folks if ya ever head this way.
After cofest, the girl was in love with the area and how affordable everything was. So I took the opportunity. Think it'll be good.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

If you'd been there 2 weeks ago, we would have dropped in on the way home from Telluride. Awesome place.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

And thank you. Big change from when I first joined this place.

That made me picture you and Jonathan on Saran Wrap... you guys were just little-young-un-dorks!
