So I had another deadbolt laying around from when I remodeled the house that I put on temporarily. But unfortunately in reading about deadbolts I realize they are using new technology now to prevent bumping? Is everyone privy to this already?

The threat of bumping is mech lower than its made out to be. I see way more issues with the bump resistant locks failing than I do actual instances of bumping.
