Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Geico just tried to screw over a friend of mine who got hit by someone while turning into his driveway... tried to say he was 25% at fault.

He signaled, slowed down, and tried to turn right into his driveway. Some retarded lady tried to pass him on the right and slammed into his Forester, then ended up on the snowbank. Totaled a brand new prius.

She claimed she thought he was turning left (while signaling right, with a driveway and a mailbox on the right, and no driveway on the left) and the cop told her she was 1. full of shit 2. wrong 3. stupid because you aren't allowed to pass on the shoulder/right anyways. Then cited her for it.

Geico tried to say he was 25% at fault, then the claim person nearly shit a brick when they found out the idiot got cited at-fault. Adjuster showed up, heard his tale of woe, was like "oh they're trying to screw you, I guess I'll pad the estimate a little so it all works out..." and was very thorough in checking for damage everywhere, including the steering rack, tie rods, halfshafts, steering knuckle, wheel bearings... etc. And then Geico realized they probably shouldn't do things that would land them in court against him with a good solid case and found her 100% at fault in the end anyways :laugh2:

I was considering switching to them until I heard his (and other) stories... screw em. I'll stay with the company I have now.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well I get truck back from body shop tomorrow. Super stoked about that.

Called geico to set up a shop/dealership to get truck rear axle checked out (I hit throttle when I got hit, tires in air, then landed and stopped the truck) for any damage to the gears or shafts, whatever.

Geico adjuster on the case straight told me good luck let us know how that works out for you. They don't see any damage on OUTSIDE of axle so they won't cover looking for any damage on the INSIDE. Seriously. **** geico. I set up my own appointment. And then will send them a bill. So over dealing with them.
My wife has a story about "unseen damages" that she had to pay here in Colorado. Ask your favorite lawyer about such legal precepts.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Sad to see this one gone my but career doesn't give me the time to focus on a project like this. Time to buy something done :)

Re: The Colorado BS thread

yeah, with the known problems with the "super 44" in Titans, I think that's smart, Mike. I worry a bit about mine since when they repaired from my hit the just replaced a quarter and both sets of leaf springs (which were both tweaked at the eyes), but did nothing to the axle. That said, I have zero indications there is anything wrong. No hums, vibes, weird tire wear, etc. Maybe you should get Geico to spring for a bolt-in Currie 60 for the Titan... :D

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well I set appt I'll pay out I pocket to get inspected. If there is damage, I'll take the cash (if it's a full rebuild) and get a currie 9 put in I think. I'm beyond over geico currently.
And Chris that is exactly why I am so worried

Re: The Colorado BS thread

does currie make a bolt in 9 for the Titan too, with proper abs and such?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Nob hill did a great job and it was detailed and everything looked awesome. Even tossed in my new tails for me.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I'm 2 weeks into a new mustache. Heather is NOT happy.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

in my experience, she won't get any happier. might as well roll with it, buy some wax, and put some fancy curls on the ends.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

That's what I'm hoping to do but we'll see how far I get. I tell her that since I'm bald...this is my outlet. Would you rather I rock a mullet or a mustache? She rolled her eyes when I bought a tiny comb for it today. I keep it in my wallet and try to use it whenever she's around.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I can't do too much of a stache. Once it starts touching my lips and corner of mouth it makes me craaaaazy. I am 4 month into the new beard though. Goal is a year with no trim and then go from there lol.
I've been growing my hair out (6-7" currently). But was thinking of cutting it off. Anyone know the requirement to donate hair???

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well I damn sure don't seeing as how I can't grow much at all. How can a mustache bother you but a full beard doesn't Mike?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Shaved head and full bear is the ultimate in manly appearance. Unfortunately I have to wait until retirement to do it.

GF said she thought I'd look cool with a beard, I figured what the hell, I can always shave it back off again. Let it grow out... it's been growing since around mid-January and with minor trimming seems to be looking OK.

She turned out to be quite emotionally unstable and we don't even really talk anymore, but I'm gonna keep the beard till it either takes too much to maintain or I think it looks dumb.

Like Mike I can't grow a stache to save my life, it curls around and digs into my lips at random if I let it get that long. So I just trim it short for now.

Been there. Not much is worse.
