Re: The Colorado BS thread
Geico just tried to screw over a friend of mine who got hit by someone while turning into his driveway... tried to say he was 25% at fault.
He signaled, slowed down, and tried to turn right into his driveway. Some retarded lady tried to pass him on the right and slammed into his Forester, then ended up on the snowbank. Totaled a brand new prius.
She claimed she thought he was turning left (while signaling right, with a driveway and a mailbox on the right, and no driveway on the left) and the cop told her she was 1. full of shit 2. wrong 3. stupid because you aren't allowed to pass on the shoulder/right anyways. Then cited her for it.
Geico tried to say he was 25% at fault, then the claim person nearly shit a brick when they found out the idiot got cited at-fault. Adjuster showed up, heard his tale of woe, was like "oh they're trying to screw you, I guess I'll pad the estimate a little so it all works out..." and was very thorough in checking for damage everywhere, including the steering rack, tie rods, halfshafts, steering knuckle, wheel bearings... etc. And then Geico realized they probably shouldn't do things that would land them in court against him with a good solid case and found her 100% at fault in the end anyways :laugh2:
I was considering switching to them until I heard his (and other) stories... screw em. I'll stay with the company I have now.
