Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

This is one of the prettiest fish I've caught in a while and I love the Snake River Cutts.

Several months ago I had a run in on a sandbar with an unethical guide and two of his drunk clients. Shortly after that I was telling the story to a guy I had recently met who happens to be the head guide for an outfitter in the Denver area. He offered me a job for this summer and I'm going to do it (although I'm nervous about whether or not I could be a guide). Guide friends that I fish with say that I could so we'll see. I'm not looking to make a career change but just want to educate folks about fly fishing and taking care of our waters. It is very difficult for me to get out with this new teaching job that I have but I'm really trying to because I am much more relaxed after doing so. I know there are some on here that would like to get out as well. If you'd like to go, shoot me a message and we'll try to get together for a tennis lesson of sorts. This would probably help me determine if guiding is something I'd like to do this summer.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Been a busy last few days at the tying vise.

Oh and Troy...I'm sure you're licking your chops at the thought of fishing but I'll need to see some documentation that a team of professionals has at least attempted some aversion therapy with you and fish odor/slime.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

groovy summer job. I have a college buddy who is a guide in Denver... wonder if its the same dude.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Chris, I'll be with Rocky Mountain Flyfishing Guides.

I'd be game. Fly-fishing is something that I've always wanted to learn how to do. It looks like a challenge.

I should add that although I have a spare rod and reel and all that jazz, I do NOT have spare waders and boots. I know some don't mind wet wading in the summer but I don't care for it.

I have several friends that fly fish and I'm sure they'd let me borrow a pair.

Right on. Let me know if you would like to get out then and we'll see what we can do.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I generally throw my boots on and wet wade unless I'm getting past my knees -- cold water on the inner thighs is only fun for a little while. :eyes: sometimes I just wear my Tevas.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

hey, its all about nature, man. Plus my waders smell pretty.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Plus if you are just wearing Tevas, you don't have to pull your waders down to pee and you'll have that section of the river to yourself.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Great ending!

The Colorado BS thread

Hmm, I'll try but I just don't think our Freghtliner at work will do that. Even with its 550hp tune I'm thinking it might be a few ponies short if what that thing makes.

Sweet vid Mike
