Picked this beauty up last weekend:

New 2013 18' 10k rated PJ Hauler.

Finally have everything lined up to actually get the buggy from point A to B. (still need a brake controller, a class V hitch, and quickly fix some wiring though).

Funny how much money one will spend...to essentially tow an expensive toy. :laugh:

All worth it to me though!

Once the buggy is wrapped up...plans for working on the trailer start :firedevil

I know the word on the street is that my waders stink but I almost took things up a notch just a bit ago. I think I was very close to shatting myself. I'm on the river when a very small storm whips up. I stopped fishing to evaluate things but it really did not seem like an issue just yet. I made a cast and I felt and heard a pop of static between my thumb and the cork handle of my fly rod. It didn't really register. I think I was aware of what happened but for whatever reason I decided to make another drift. Right away it happened twice again real rapidly. I freaked. I think I may have dodged a bullet.

Honestly man, a 600cc bike is more than 90% of riders can handle or use. Sure people hop on litre bikes all day and don't kill themselves, but they cant handle it like they should be able to. Hell, I don't NEED a litre bike by any means. A hopped up 600 would keep me more than satisfied, but for the type of riding im intending on doing, the added power and mpg would be ideal. But who knows.
Don't let anyone get ya twisted saying you NEED a litre bike, or that they do for that matter. I can handle a bike and this thing made me nervous a bit.

Its a BMW S1000RR. basically a really rough, non lubed price tag, on a very very sexy and powerful bike that offers a bunch of crap you would want to turn off (abs, trac control, lift retardation system) and lacks simple goodies like hydraulic clutch and projector lenses. Very pretty bike. But ill spend less than half of that things costs and buy a bike with under 5k miles on it.

Yeah I looked it up a little bit. Interesting. Drop dead gorgeous for sure. Wild that it has some of the stuff you mentioned but a cable clutch. That's a lotta bike.

I got my friends CB650 running. I think it runs pretty darn good for sitting for so long but it needs the carbs gone through and probably synced but he doesn't wanna do anything else to it. I've been riding it around town up here and it sure is fun. I think he's coming to get it this weekend. Has me thinking about getting something similar but a 550 or 350 to learn/tinker with and build into a cafe bike. I'm liquidating some bicycles now that it looks like I wont be able to ride much anymore and maybe I'll look for something.

Yeah, when it comes to sport bikes there is really no need for a liter bike. A 600 is more forgiving and easier to ride faster through the twisties than a big liter bike. Most of the time the 600's will actually pull away off the line, then get passed by the liter bike once at speed, only to retake the lead in a turn because its a lighter and more confidence inspiring machine.

I have a big liter bike, but its not a sport bike and while fairly fast most any 600cc sport bike will decimate mine in any type of race. Well, unless the roads turn into dirt.

I love playing with 600s in the Subaru, they seem like the perfect bike to me...

they really are a great bike. If I decide to go ahead and do track days again it will be another 600.
otherwise I'll likely do a litre since I'll spend most times on highway for longer rides. Being able to run a lower rpm and still have a ton of grunt is great on freeway.
biggest thing when you look for a bike t2gd is comfort. Be comfortable and confident. Don't worry about brand ir size or any of that. Just get a bike when you ride you smile and you have most confidence. That's the best bike for you.

Yeah, brand doesn't matter. If it did though KTM would be the only one to get.

The 690 Duke would be a sweet bike to own. Or if you want balls out get an RC8. I'm also a big fan of SuperMotards for some reason, I just thing they're cool as hell.

Well after 15 years and countless projects, my Mac XR11 ratchet has finally met the Maker. The picture isn't great but about 9 teeth stripped off yesterday while removing my LCAs. I'm hoping that Mac will warranty this, but I don't think that this unit is still in production. It's a sad day.

Sad day indeed! I had an SK ratchet that was about 18" long, bought it used in 1985. After 20 years of use and abuse, it finally broke. :bawl:

See I didn't like the rc8 as much. on the street it was a really fun ride, but when we took it to the track, it was just too tall for my liking. Being tall myself, and then on a taller bike, I just couldn't get comfortable. It definitely wants to fall into some turns

The Triumph 675 is kind of the same way as far as height is concerned. But hot damn that is one rocket of a bike. Has zero problems taking 600's and 750's out on the track. The rpm's just seem to never end hahaha.

I've never been out on one. Personally I find sport bikes uncomfortable and impractical for anything besides a track day.

I like the more upright sport tourers and naked street fighter bikes though. I'm actually very interested in test riding a 690 Duke and a 950 or 990 SuperMotard.
