Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Wooo Hoooo!!!!!! FINALLY getting the Eclipse fixed - I haven't driven it in 53 weeks.
That means you have to pay a $100 penalty unless you kept the plates current.

I wish classified ads said what people meant. Im tired of looking at shit listed that the buyer has no intent of selling or that it isnt what the item is. How hard is it?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well, some friends & I spent 4th of July putting a lift on my '97 country. Took forever, but we didn't break those front hanger bolts, so i guess it's all good.

I used RC 3" coils in front, OME LD leafs in back w/.75" shackle, and relocators. Pro Comp ES3000 shocks I think.. Been gathering parts since Oct. Rides pretty good. I really like the stance it has.. Hopefully, the leafs don't move too much from there, but already seem pretty flat.

Very nice looking Limited!

But yeah, the position of those leafs is no good at all. Flat means they have no more travel left. They're sitting fully stretched out at ride height. The leaf packs should look like that when flexing the axle upward, not at ride height. As they sit, the shackles are likely going to pull in as the axle travels up, instead of push out as the leaf pack compresses........ make sense?

No harm being done really, they're just going to flatten out and sag more over time anyway. Gets ya by until you can afford some quality leaf packs.

Got rust?

Doing some fixin' on this '01 and replacing this crusty bumper is one of the tasks on the list.

Previous owner had a body shop replace and paint the rear bumper 5 years ago. Been a Colorado rig all it's life but this bumper looks like a Titanic artifact........

I'm guessing its the combination of Certifit crap and bad paint prep....:dunno:

I stepped on it and my foot went through it

Did the same to the other side when I lightly kicked it

This is after just 5 foot stomps along the top edge

Barely any metal left at all

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Drunk 19 year old and his 3 friends took a wild ride when he expected his Saturn to hold a corner at 50 mph like a formula 1 car..... You can see where it hit the house - look just above the hood - air bags deployed but the girls in the back seat weren't wearing seat belts and got banged up pretty good. If it hadn't been for that raised brick terrace..... the homeowner would have had a car in his dining room.

Bullshit, its called negative arch. My XJ packs on the YJ sat almost completely flat at ride height and I still got 6+" of up travel.
