Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

How is it possible noone in the chapter has even mentioned the Broncs picking up Manning?!? WOOT!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yeah, but for $96 million????? Shit's gotten out of hand. If that guy lasts a season I'll be pretty surprised........ and they'll still have to pay him while he sits injured, not playing.

Can't blame Manning for scooping the deal...... that's a helluva good medical/disability insurance plan.....

My question is....... why are the Bronco's paying so much for the coaching staff if they're just gonna buy a winning team? Aren't the coaches the ones that should have the talent to be able to build on the investment/talent they have in Tebow?

Apparently it's worth a $96 million dollar gamble for an attempt to maybe win a Super Bowl huh? :dunno:

Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating....... just caught up in the financial insanity of it all.

From a recent Forbes article:

$48 million Total value of his rookie contract he signed with the Colts in 1998.

$173.6 million Cumulative amount the Colts paid Manning during his 14-year career.

........ and now another $96 million on top of that?

yep -- acknowledging that the numbers all these guys make are simply laughable. The contract is actually fairly favorable for the broncos -- he's guaranteed $18m this year, and that is really the risk, and then he gets $20m each of the next two years - BUT, the broncos have medical outs after year one. I don't think ANYONE thinks Peyton plans to play more than 3 more years, so really its "only" a $58m contract, with medical outs and performance incentives. If they're hoisting lombardy in 11 months, everyone will say, Tim who?:anon:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I disagree, they get paid what they do because people watch football in the U.S. it's entertainment. If we were talking about an American type football league in the U.K. the amount of money they get is a whole lot less, but the soccer players make bank over there. It's just like movie stars, if only a few people watched movies, the actors would make a hell of a lot less money per movie.

And by the way, the Pack is going to win the super bowl next year, so the Donkos just pissed away all that money for nothing. :D

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I don't care how you try to justify it, they are all getting paid to damn much. Then, they have the nerve to go on strike because they "don't make enough" ??? Look at all of those that can't even get XXXXing jobs and they're bitching about not making enough to PLAY A XXXXING GAME!!!!!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I'm fine with them getting paid that much, it's a free country. That being said, I don't really contribute to their income at all, as I barely bother to watch one game a year.

It's a career that is short and injuries are common, so I can't really fault them for wanting to get as much money out of it as quickly as possible in case they are retired by a bad injury. IIRC a lot of pro football players end up broke and having to find a new profession after a while, so either they aren't making enough or they have no idea how to manage their money. Hell, I could retire on 1 million and never even touch the principal... I kinda want to know how they're blowing through that much cash, but it isn't really my business.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Capitalism! Anyways, good luck with Peyton. He is a great player and a stand up guy. No showboatung, no whining, no jail, just a true sportsman. I'll be rooting for the Broncos as well as my Colts next season.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well, Lets think about Lacrosse. Those players, as we all know, are Bad A$$ and they make 14k a year!

Stupid how much football players make...

If you can get you and 74,999 of your friends to pony up $150/seat for 9 games a year, you can watch LAX salaries go through the roof... fair is what the market supports. LAX players are certainly bad ass, and its a cool game, but it isn't the multi-billion dollar buisness that the NFL is, and that is why NFL players (and NBA, MLB and NHL) are so grossly "overpaid".

Personally, I refuse to participate in that bloated market, and won't go to Bronco games unless I get the tickets on the waaay cheap -- same for hockey. Baseball is a bit cheaper, so I indulge. Voting with your wallet is the american way!

Wont happen! LAX players and fans love the game too much! We pay $32 per seat per game for our four Mammoth season tickets on the glass. It is scary to see how much those seats are for just one Avalanche game.
The game will be ruined if the players become millionaires. Best part of the game is sitting down with the players after a game and drinking. They are everday guys with family, and regular jobs. Take that away and the game is doomed!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Y'all need to watch the YouTube video called "Siri Argument". Hilarious. I don't own a 4S but can appreciate it cause I've had crazy conversations with her on my buddies phones. Enjoy. If I could link it I would but I don't know how. I'm not tech savvy.

That thing is sweet!

So for at least the next month I'm gonna be bugging you guys now that I am officially coming to visit! :D Original plan was to go to Moab as well but that didn't pan out. We'll probably stay within 2-3 hours of Denver so what is there to do for us who don't have their rig with them? :banghead:

Get in someone's rig and hit the trails!!!
Even if you are not driving, the trails are awesome.
Try to figure out if someone is going wheelin when you will be out here. There are always open seats!
Other than that, we have some good local breweries.
Maybe hit up Dave and busters if you want to feel like a kid again. Lol

Cheese cake factory is an awesome place to eat. A bit pricey but excellent food!!!!

I'm sure a few Denver guys will chime in about more things to do in denver.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I can build a Ford Explorer 8.8 rear axle to fit in your TJ. These axles are far superior to the Dana 35 or Dana 44. You get larger axle tubes, disc brakes, 31 spline axle shafts, and 5x4.5 bolt pattern (same as stock).
The axle is slightly narrower by 1.25 inches total. You only lose 5/8" on each side. I use heavy duty 3/16s and 1/4" brackets. If you want peace of mind on the trail that you won't have to spend hours trying to fix a broken axle shaft or sheared off ring gear teeth, then this is the upgrade for you. I ran one under my TJ. 35s with a spool and I have no issues. Axle comes unpainted and diff cover is not included. I have parts in stock right now so turn around is quick right now.

Pricing listed below:
3.08, 3.73, 4.10 $725 add $50 for limited slip carrier.

4.56 or 4.88 $925 add $50 for limited slip carrier.
If you want new bearings add $150
If you would like a locker installed $50 bucks at the time of set up. Prices subject to change if installed at a later date.
I can install the axle for you. $225 includes ebrake cables, brake lines plumbed, and drive shaft yoke.
Call text 303 725 2920 . If you can't get a hold of me by phone try emailing or texting me I can call you back.
My shop is located in Parker.

This guy is a HACK!! He will do the job, install whatever you ask for then when something goes wrong he will blame something else. He is a backyard mechanic at best, no schooling, no knowledge and no idea of what he is doing. You can have him do the job but, DO NOT expect him to cover anything when it goes wrong, even if it is his fault. His work will cause other failures in your vehicle that he will say is YOUR fault, not his or his work!!! BEWARE OF THIS GUY.... I know people at the places that he shops and they agree that he is not good at what he does and can't do anything properly, in other words, a HACK!!!
