I believe that is a 5 ton not a deuce due to the air filter housing on the fender and the 10 lug rims. It is certainly not an M39/M54 series 5 ton however as the housing goes on the passenger side on those (that's what I have.) I'd bet on an M800 or M900 series. Whatever it is, it is pure badassery.
A guy I know out here has a 10 ton (not really a 10 ton, more like a 15 to 25 ton depending on what portion you base your rating on, but the military called them 10 ton) M123A1C tractor he just bought for short money on Craigslist. It's awesome, has some 800+ cubic inch V8 turbodiesel in it. It makes my 5 ton look tiny. Loggers and back woods road construction people have said they are good to about a GCWR of 100k or above without too much worrying about where one is driving.
Yeah, I thought those axles looked like the 5-ton variety but I don't know my Deuce bodies well enough to tell one from the bigger trucks. Looking at the lug pattern on those axles..... definitely not 2.5 ton'ers.
So I had a few issues that made me leave my xj sitting around for a month on a already weaker battery. I jumped it and it cranked fine, stayed running fine without a foot on the gas. Took it in for a compression test, and now it won't stay running after the crank without a foot on the gas for a good 15 minutes.
Mech says it is just the battery won't let it stay ideling, does that make any sense? I was hoping if I started driving it every day again the battery might come back, but maybe it is farther gone now than when I took it in for some reason?
I don't mind buying a battery all that much, just seems like there must be something else going on since it idled on it's own before the test now it won't...
start with the battery since it needs replaced anyway. if that doesnt fix it, go from there.
i dont really see how a low battery would keep it from idling.
did you check all of you vacuum lines?
sometimes if the right one comes loose it will not idle correctly or not at all.
