Re: The Colorado BS thread

Some days a re diamonds, some days are coal.

Saturday was coal.

Open a box of parts from TeraFlex, missing lots-o-weld-in inserts......damnit.

Sigh....

Oh well, there's steel to be cut, so break out the chopsaw.
3 pieces of many and the chopsaw decides it's lived a long and useful life and decides to give up the ghost. It doesn't just seize up and refuse to work. Oh no, it couldn't be that simple. In blaze of sparks, acidic blue smoke, and a shower of internal parts, some of which attempted to remove my yarbles, the saw ground to a halt.

Double sigh.....

So production came to a halt as well, for the most part at least.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yarbles........

Hey, fabrication is a full contact sport so.......

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Some good news.
My new motor is now dropped into place. Ready to bolt up.
Just waiting on my new motor mounts.
Pics will be up soon. I'm just sitting, staring at my jeep. Lol

Re: The Colorado BS thread

New chop saw ordered, won't be here till the end of the week.

UPS is a no show with my darn ends.

Had my daughter drive me around today picking up some materials....got smacked by a Toyota Lancruiser. We suffered some minor damage, Tail Light on the passenger side (see ad in the For Sale/Wanted Forum).

The Toyota didn't fare so well. A quick inspection and I noted that she was gonna need a new bumper valance, grill, condenser coil, radiator, fan(s), hood, header panel.

We were stopped at a red light waiting for traffic to clear so Rebecca could make a right turn......BAM!! No injuries thankfully. The lady that smacked us said this had happened to her 4-5 times in the last year. Seems she should know better....

Since our damage was minimal we opted to just let her take care of her own mess and we'll do the same.

And the wife came down with a wicked case of Pink Eye.

When it rains, it pours......

Re: The Colorado BS thread

After installing the roll cage, I realized what it really was for, to keep the headliner from drooping too far. :)

Re: The Colorado BS thread

It's a recycled D&C Extreme cage, came out of Yellaheap II. Troy may have some pics. BTW, if you recycle a cage for a two door make sure that the previous owner was as tall as you. I can't move my seat back as far as I would like. :)

Re: The Colorado BS thread

If you want to move your seat back I would gladly take the cage... I am short and don't have my seat very far back anyways. I will even pay you in cash dollars.

Deal?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Not for me.

That $#@%^ ain't never coming out. Bolted, welded, too much time and money. I'll change out the bar in the way, or maybe I'll just age quicker and shrink some more.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I don't think I will have a cage for another year at least. sadly. All I need is to convince my parents that i wont mess anything up and then spend lots o money on tube and have enough time to have the jeep down for a week.

Fred- would you like to donate to the "David's life saving cage foundation"?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Sure, just as soon as you donate to my unemployment fund. :)

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Interesting....... I had no issue with the seat/cage. I used to keep my seat slid all the way back. Which put the seat back into that spreader bar. Is that the bar you're having issues with? Or is there a bar along the floor that's interfering with the slider? Led modified that cage after he got HeepII....... and he's shorter than me.... :D

Knew you were lying when you said you wouldn't look ! :roflmao:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

My cage is made of tin foil think sheet metal, I hope to upgrade to PVC sometime soon, but wont reach the ultimate stage of DOM/HREW for another year.

I have the David's life saving cage foundation setup on paypal if anyone wants to donate...

Re: The Colorado BS thread

So since this is a BS thread, last Sunday sucked. My girlfriend was backing out of a parking lot in her 05 Grand Cherokee and clips a pole with her pass-front tire resulting in a tire-rod snapping in half. We catch a ride to her house to pick up my XJ. After throwing all my tools in the back I go to hop in it and the freaking thing wont start AAAAHHHHHHH!!!! It never ends lol
