Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Did that happen yesterday and did the driver and/or crew have to camp out with it overnight until you got there?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

It happened yesterday morning. My wrecker operators were on a sling load mission so this "old" Platoon Daddy had to dust off his gloves and show the kids how it's done.

D Co had people up there for the night though because our BC didn't want anybody else driving down the mountain last night after us. We made it down with the HMMWV in tow before we got that message. ;) They all came back down today.

Yeah, I'm sure. Being it was so cold and all........ "Sorry sir, you're breaking up, I can't copy you. Head down you said? BC, come in BC......... "

I hate plumbing, well, plumbing that is older than I...

He said older than himself...I took that to mean a small shack with a moon cut out in the door .
That would have been easier to replace, but, this house was built in 1949, on a concrete pad.

Yup, we were replacing the toilet. My landlord over tightened one of the T- bolts and broke the cast iron closet ring; things went to crap from there...

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I worked on a similar house, with lead piping, concrete slab. Broke out the busted flange, cheated with a PVC inside closet flange to go inside the lead. But drilling into that '40s concrete, without a hammer drill, was terrible. Busted three bits; that stuff was tough. I was counting on gravity to do its job, with only two concrete screws holding it down.

Thanks Jeff! It is nice to know that two of us have not lost it. :D

Re: The Colorado BS thread

If only tire sizes were as simple as the stated size on the side wall and manufacturers web site picking a tire would be easy...I will be ditching the 15 wheels and not bothering swapping on the 15 beadlocks I have in favor of new 17s and either 42 trepadors or 43 sx both are comp compounds no highway rubber ...I think the sx just as good as the trep the tread can be modded with grooves and sipes the only question is it any bigger than the Trepador 42 ...lol...I want the biggest of the Two since they replace 44s ...lol...Need to finish the cosmetics of the rig before I choose a wheel to fit the final look .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Found a pic of the 42 trep next to a 43 sx on hardline crawlers , and the trep looked a hair taller , So most likely going to end up with the Maxxis ...You know I wish they made sticky boggers wider than 13.50 that looks uber gheeey in bogger tread...after the tires and wheels my pockets will be empty of Jeep money ,So going to have to wait to upgrade the suspension ,but tires seem to ne the most bang for the buck..lol...suspension don't matter with old weather checked rubber that don't hook anyways .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well, got one more wall of the shop pretty well done.

That's a 50" TV for reference

Not bad for a free TV...now to figure out where to mount the 40" I had in the last garage :D

It's nice to be able to throw on a football game while tinkering away...or a movie...or Top Gear...
