Colorado B/S Thread

heim joints

i just saw a vid about a ww2 P40M crash that burned and it had heims that survived the crash and fire. these were top secret ww2 secrets that teh Nazi's pioneered in their aircraft. Interesting to see them incorporated in the P40 that crashed in 1943. another Nazi invention we use are the so called European style 20L fuel cans. it was also top secret at the time as well. Funny how our enemy's inventions are widely used on our recreation vehicles today 70+ years later.

You can chalk up 1000s of inventions that have came directly out of military spending. It's amazing what engineers can come up with when you give them a nearly unlimited budget.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Some of the folks from the be with boostwerks last week apparently think I'm an asshole :gee:
Hurt my damn feelers :roflmao:

But they mentioned wanting to catch me out and about so they could beat my ass. So, naturally, I sent them an invite and told em I'm home all weekend. Sadly no one has responded. Must be shy. :gag:

Are they just IM'ing you or something?

If they show up at my house I'll beat your ass. :) J/K

Re: The Colorado BS thread

No. Just was sent a link to their page where they were discussing me. So I sent IM to them saying no need to wait for me. I'm home all weekend. Come on by.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Their personal page. One of their 'friends' though I should see it.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Ha oh wow...the irony.

"He better hope I don't see him on the trail sometime"

Funny what happens when you pull the sh*t you did.

If I ever see or recognize any one of them on the trail, no hesitation calling a spade a spade on that one.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

When I parked my rig in Denver area I always wondered how a crook would feel in a chase after realizing his top speed is about 50...lol

Re: The Colorado BS thread

18 months ago I replaced a driver side hub and axle u joint on my 2500 against my better judgement I bought Two precision joints from oriellys not Spicer lube for life no service joints I did so only b/c no shops open on weekend carry Spicer ...The joints are nice joints but I knew I would never remember to grease it since everything else is zero service...lol...so 18 months and no greasing and they are needing replaced...So I got a nice pair of Spicers from drive train specialist for $105 I checked Oriellys to see if they carry them now and they do but not in store however they get...$99.99 a single joint not per pair but a single u-j...lol...that's worse than dealer Mark up.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I have found Spicer Brand U-Joints at CarQuest. Lately, there have been "Made in China" markings of some of the components of said U-Joints.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yeah, I tell folks to get them at Car Quest if they need it locally and fast. They are usually open on Saturdays. NAPA can get them but they are a special order. They shouldn't cost you more than $50 for a pair with tax, less if you buy online. Or see if your local driveline shop is reasonable. Some driveline shops are reasonable and some aren't.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yeah the 5006813 spicer joints area about $50 a joint those are a 1ton sized joint ...I just found it funny oriellys gets $99.99 for just one ...lol...the dealer price is better.

As for made in China my box of 5006813 life series say made in USA but ...lol...but even if they came boxed in rice I would buy them b/c I want the zero service joint the OE lasted 140k miles.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Just shoveled for the 3rd time. Lost power for a bit last night. Looks like the snow is slowing down but our wind is picking up. Time for the drifts.
