Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Apparently I'm getting too old for this keerap.

Couple weeks ago, I was working out on the concrete RV pad removing a trans from a Dodge Ram and doing all that holding my head up while reaching way up and around things, pushing, pulling, etc......According to an MRI, I now have a bulging C5 disk. Since that day, I've had nothing but the most severe nerve pain I've ever experienced..... Makes my ACL and Meniscus tear and 6 mos of healing after surgery feel like a minor injury.

Narcotics aren't affecting the nerve, they just noodle me up and make me a useless whiny bitch.

Shoulder is the worst affected - it's like I have a dagger stuck through the round bone joint and the sharp tip is poking through into the rotator......... all the time. I can't sleep lying down in any position. I've been getting drug induced naps on the recliner at a specific angle.

Chiropractic electro muscle stimulation, traction and dry deep tissue needling have helped alot in staying loose without the narcs.

Tuesday I finally have an appointment with a specialist about getting a Cortisone injection.

My days of wrenching on the ground are going to be greatly limited now - I ain't going through this again. (hence the recent MJ liquidation ad....)

Yay.

Shoot man, that sounds terrible.

Will be praying.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I ate eight aspirin and two Tylenol from the first aid kit to cut the pain. Must be great for my gut.
Actually, if you stagger the intake of the two meds, you are doing it like the professionals want it done.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Mike, I did stagger them...about two minutes apart. :-P

This pain is sooooo intense. I would have gone ER if I could.

Ummm, yeah. If anybody is remotely curious, take the different medications two hours apart, if the instructions read "every four hours."

I can say that I have been very fortunate in not needing prescription medications until after the doctors were done with me. There have been exceptions, just not very often.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

4k? People realize these are 25 year old under equipped vehicles right? Lol. Must be friends with guy in best of thread who wants 15k for a mild xj

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Dammit Jeremy........ I'm trying to thin the herd!

Yeah, $4K is high for what I can see of the truck in those pics, but it is an eliminator with A/C and likely a D44 and skids. It's closer to a $2500 truck given the low miles.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

What's going on, everyone? Moving to Boulder next week and wanted to check in and hopefully meet some folks to go wheeling with.

Here are the Jeeps!:

That's the same spot my disc and pinched nerve are at too. Unbelievably painful when it hits. Sometimes I would get 6 months of relative comfort with a Cortisone injection when I was still riding my mountain bike. It made a HUGE difference when I quit riding. I'm a little over a year from my last injection and just starting to feel pain and experience loss in range of motion again. I also take up to 600mg of Gabapentin each day. This is a nerve blocker that really helps me. When I'm feeling good I can back off it but I've been taking it daily again for about a month now.

Hope you start feeling better Troy. That is a bad injury.

The chiropractic therapies have worked miracles on the muscular half of the issue. Honestly fellas if you've got muscular pains, talk to a licensed deep tissue dry needle specialist. Instant and lasting relief.

Yeah I had to push past the pain and get the rest of that truck pulled apart and scrapped.

But I gotta bail on my pile o future projects, heal up and get my Eliminator lifted, dually painted and driving and the raceTruck built so I can go out there and spank Zarco.........:D

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Drive the grand. The lifted XJ will get you dirty looks. Lol.

Would that be just a Boulder thing because they don't like lifted/trucks or because it's an XJ? If it passes emissions, it's getting driven quite a bit! haha

No one will like my bumper sticker then I take it..

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Welcome BLK.

But I have to ask, why Boulder? I get that the location is beautiful, but the majority of the people are long haired, sandal wearing, anti 2ND amendment, tree hugging, tofu eating, democrat voting, pot smoking, pedestrian have the right of way thinking, anything that is not a prius haters, guitar strumming, drum circling, stinking hippies.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I worry about Boulder. I worked there for a year and had my Jeep keyed and nasty stuff written in the mud on the back window. They don't call it the peoples republic of Boulder for nothing.
