When I was leaving he was pulling in and asked me about the mud. I told him as far as I knew it was off trail and defintaly something I wouldn't try alone haha so I find it humorous he got stuck.
Sooooo, "the guy" was told twice about the muddy
Hey guys, new here, but not new to the offroad world. Live up in Wellington and am looking for an xj. Hoping to pick one up and hit the trails this summer.
Soooo, that was you???

My work hooptie is close to being miled out.......Can't get new Expeditions anymore. As far as supervisor vehicles go, sure wish I could get a truck with a bed cover.

The Interceptors aren't bad, but they're not buying the turbo engine version of the Explorer, only the Taurus. So, the things are a little under-powered. They also can't be used to "PIT" because of the soft and round front ends... the front tires end up rubbing the car being contacted. Ugly expensive front PIT bumpers are the solution...... which they aren't interested in buying us. Sucks.
That looks amazing!!! Drool....And along the way to get the trailer, I saw this cool '46 Olds sled. Looks to have air bags (old school switches below the dash) and sweet wheel covers. Sorry, I geeked out over it because I never see them... Other than mine.

I have to admit, I got a little defensive while reading your posts. I have met three of the four guys on that run, wrenched with two of them. The three I have met face-to-face, are soft spoken. I won't put thought in their heads, or words in their mouths, any more than I would put thoughts in your head, or words in your mouth. Is this a topic you want me to open over there?Negative . But most folks watch people do stuff like this and they may say not to try it ,but do not really tell the person the ins and outs of trail use and why not to do it ,and one look at that stock FJ with not even a true recovery point and it should be obvious that he has no idea that thaere are boundries offroad other than the limits of the vehicle . I've noticed that the folks in the elite type groups will then after the fact gripe loudly about the miss-dead , well just sayin " I don't think you should try this " is not the same as outlining the legal use of the trail to a clueless person .
On my way out to the main road I had my right rear coil snap in two I was going 20 or less and just getting ready to make the swing onto 43 headed towards cr47 this caused me to dip to the side unexpectedly and my front passenger tire dropped off the hill and the rest of the jeep followed , well surprising the hell out of me it did not roll at the angle it was at I started to pull my winch cable looking for a point to winch all my recovery gear was out of reack on the floor passenger side , and most of crew comming out assumed I was trying to wheel that piece of realestate and drove by with a smirk , and only a group of kids were there to give me the help i needed to recover that without incident , and these would be the kind of folks the elite jeep folk gripe about .
