Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well, if you want my opinion, and you probably don't.

Only thing that would be stopping me is that its an Auto (just not a fan) but other then that YES. its MUCH more practical, reliable, and it seems pretty nice if it has lowish miles.

Troy's right though. Later, if need to sell, it actually would.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Only thing stoping me is my car has 106,000 and his car 194,233...
And I agree I love Manuals and hate autos, but I have a lot of miles to drive daily with my commute to schools soon, and the doc says I have a torn meniscus and torn acl in my left leg so not playing with the clutch for a while might be good for me!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

check the subi for whether the head gaskets are toast, make sure the timing belt has been replaced on schedule, and check the CV joints, particularly the front-passenger joint to see if they are shot (that one is really close to the CAT and tends to cook). If all these things are in order, there is probably another 100k in that boxer engine assuming it hasn't been rode hard and put away wet...

Re: The Colorado BS thread

That is what i really want lol.

nice legacy. however being the gt with a 2.5 headcaskets are known to go out quick. check for previous work when everythings been done.

always consider 2.5 are great motor but are know to blow headcaskets with a heavy foot witch can lead to major issues. i know were u can get everything done on it real cheap however.

nice car if you have any other questions or want a ex subaru mechanic to check it out with you shoot me a pm

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Aw. dad gets home and lays down the law that I cant trade my car and that if I want I can keep it or sell it. and then I have to make a list of why my jeep isnt reliable and that I have to take it back down to stock untill it is.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Ouch. Return your XJ to stock to make it reliable??? That'd cost more than keeping a second car around......

Dunno if this statement will help or hurt your case...... given my current rep as a jeep hoarder......:shhh:...... But I always had a second car from age 16 'till now. I traded up and down for the "beater of the week" all through high school. Did it to keep from wearing out my racing mods and to save both my license AND gas mileage....

I think Matt needs a hug...... And a chill pill.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

i'd go auto, anybody can wheel with an auto, stick, not so much.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well the wheeling will be at an absolute minimum. Its just gonna be more of a kick ass DD/camping rig for the sister. they will use it when the brothers 2wd truck wont do. It has the crappy peugot in it (at least thats what it looks like. Case splits right down the middle of the sucker front to back on the bottom side)
I want to replace it anyway. I say go auto (that troy has) and do a stand alone shifter. Sister and folks want to keep the stick for, get this, better gas milage....WTF!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

haha. Its common knowledge that autos actually steal gasoline and use magic to make it disapear, thus worse fuel economy!
