Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

X a bagillion. no.fix a flat. at all. I would refuse to work on your tire. The chemicals are near impossible to get off the tire completely and they make it harder for an internal repair to work.
plug it. ad Vulcanizing cement. light it. wait for.it to bubble. blow out. done.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

So, how is everything out there after the craziness that you've had the past couple months? Fires pretty well contained I hope?

His tire is deemed "non-repairable" already due to the location of the nail. As such there is no reason not to slime it up.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

one of my buggy friends adds tire slime to his wheels and tires as soon as he gets them. helps leaky beadlocks too I would guess

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Beadlocks leak due to lack of correct t install. I've never had a bead leak. granted i spend almost half hour per tire to get it right. tire slime is junk. pure junk.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Dutch I usually trust your advice but I hate the green stuff. I've used it in my mountain bike tires and my son's bike tires. I absolutely hated dealing with it. Such a mess, every time I went to let air out I got my hand covered in goo.

I'm going to plug it tonight and see if it holds air sitting as the spare. If it holds air I'll put it on and run it until it blows.

This is true! But I had one leak a little but that was due to lack of maintenance I never re-tightened them after a week or so of driving on em

I meant the fix a flat, not the green crap. I ran the green crap in my BMX bikes and all it ever got me was a green skunk strip whenever I got a puncture in my tire.

What I'm getting at is if the plug doesn't hold, considering the tire is "un-repairable" then you might as well put a can of fix-a-flat in it.

I do like Jim's suggestion of a mexican tire shop, or you could always patch it yourself too. Its not that hard to break down a tire after all.

Or damage/decay of the bead the rings are pinching on.

I've got 2 rigs on bead locks. Both have been sitting for MONTHS (yeah I know :dunce:) without being driven...... all are holding their air except for one with a damaged bead.

Doug, that little sidewall puncture is a piece of cake. Bring it by and I'll rope-plug it for ya.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

For those curious. Losing brakes and powersteering simultaneously in the truck you are using to tow equipment sucks. specifically when you don't know it til traffic is stopped for the president who is driving ABOVE the road you are on, and invisible til you crest the hill......fml. that sucked.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

you didn't t-bone his eminence, did ya? :D

Re: The Colorado BS thread

No, i luckily managed to not hit anything. scared the dookie out of a lot of people but not much you can do with that long of a set up weighing that much only having emergency brake and no power steering

Re: The Colorado BS thread

you scared the dookie out of the secret service? :roflmao:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

More like cspd. who was less than thrilled. i was on circle. he was on mlk bypass, but they shut down circle also....i dunno it was dumb and i was lucky.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

no shiznit, slightly different timing and you would have been "disappeared" or sent on a short vacation to cuba!

It would've been greater luck if you had somehow hit his car. :gag: :eyes:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Got the hood I bought from Troy on the heep and got the rear to sit fairly level. It's about an eighth of an inch high. The front sits a bit high as well. I haven't had a chance to mess with the latches yet. They look like there may be a way to lower them a bit.
