Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

well you can't unload a rig sproting a light weight drivetrain ...the people today are looking for built 1-tons and 40-40+ tires ...if your trying to unload a rig on less than 1-tons and 40's...good luck...you will not get more than 5-6k for it most times since by todays standards it's not built ...And i see well built XJ's sell for around 10k very often ...not much more ,but yes 10k for built by todays standars on a rig that does not look like a rolling shyt missile will get more than 5-6 k ...So dana 44's high pinion 30's 8.8's...stock 9's ...you get my point on 35's is a 5k dollar rig , since maby don't see this as built today , and by the days standars it's not .

so many remarks but most of them have me coming off as a a-hole. wait I am a a-hole so I'll go with No ****e really thanks for the lesson!!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I was talking about something totally irrelevant to you. And there is a lot more to being built than axle and tire size. To be honest a lot of vehicle with tons under em with 40+ tires are built with no regard for clearance and drag just as much if not more than smaller axle smaller tire builds. How its executed, the goal of the rig, and a bunch of the overlooked parts make a big difference in being built to different people.

But the not getting 10k for an XJ is not true it just needs to have the parts that make it on the upper end of built rigs today...my comment was not to shyt talk anyone not on 40 or bigger and tons...mogs...rockwells ...as the axle combos I listed and tire size are certainly a built rig especially for a unibody ...BUT...tire size today that dictates the upper end of built is bigger than 37's , As 35-37 today is the new 33-35 of 10 years ago.

and I see your point on the custom end of rig making it built beyond just big/axle&tire...If this had been for sale in 2010 I would have this XJ right now , But i would have sold his axles and put a set of built tons under it with 42's .

LOL...and you'll also note that this very capabe rig that holds pace with well built buggy...lol...is drooped and unloaded /un-seated up front...And it works very well...!!!1

Ya but tossing tons and 40's on an xj don't make it worth 10k. The rig you linked is bad *** but that's not really an xj anymore. and on a 44/60 its way overpriced, even at 10k.
Dunno why everyone thinks rigs are worth gold nowadays. its still a unibody overly common vehicle....

Gorsh! I almost googled that.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Big THANKS to Joe -- Joe mounted and bead-balanced my new-to-me 285 duratracs for the WJ this morning. Wow. I was able to drive to work on the interstate with the window down and actually hear the stereo! Smooth. Since I picked up the set of 4 with roughly 5k on them for a total of $500 ($275 each new), I'm feeling good this morning!

How did the beads work out?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

its like silk at slow speeds, little bit of vibe at 70-75 -- I have a new "clunk" however, that may be a loose joint in one of the front control arms, so I'm not certain there is any tire problem at all. They are so much smoother than my old-style MTRs that I almost feel guilty calling the little vibe a "vibe". :D
