Which coils work in an XJ front? I know ZJ fronts are about 1"longer than XJs. Are TJ fronts the same length as XJs? How about rear coils...will TJ and ZJ coils even fit in the front (diameter?). Any other coils out there that work (Ranger, F150), maybe to stiff?

Look for the junkyard upgrades thread. It's a goodun.

IN short: ZJ coils that came under the V8 engine will give 1-1.5" lift, ZJ Upcountry coils another inch or so on top of that.
Never heard of anyone using TJ coils - maybe it would work, maybe it wouldn't I dont know.
If you take the top of the McPhereson strut with it and adapt it to work, 80s era Thunderbird / Cougar coils will net 3.5" lift for the V6, 4.5" with a rougher ride for the v8.
F150 coils are stiff but nice for the go-fast crowd I think and should net 4" or so.
I read somewhere a guy used Dodge E350 (full ton van) coils but know nothing more about it.

TJ coils will be 1 inch lower than XJ and V8 ZJ will be 1 inch more. I'm running ZJ V8 Old Man Emu front coils which are cheaper than Old Man Emu XJ coils by $50 and gave me 3 1/4 inches of lift.

Awesome! When the time comes, I may well go this route - the junkyards around here overcharge anyway so it's nice to know of a solid "new" option.
Have a part #?
