Im traveling from Michigan to Silverton in August. Any advice about what to see, places to stay away from, Etc. 5.5 lift, locked 4:56's, 33x12.50. Wife and kid with me so Im not planning on anything too wild. I do want to drive it home Thanks

Keep an eye on our Colorado Fest event thread in the Events Forum. We'll have lots of pics and discussion about our event being held in Silverton and the surrounding areas. Our trail list is posted there as well, so you can get an idea of where to go. There's nothing too extreme in the Silverton, Ouray, Telluride area so the way your rig is equipped you'll be fine.

You should also be able to search the Event Forum for our past Colorado Fest events - lots of good links still in those threads.

Main thing to watch for is the road directly in front of you as much as possible and not the awsome scenery. Those 1000ft. drop offs on tight switch-backs are literally a killer. Just stay focused and stop whenever you want to soak in the views.

As far as techinical driving, Poukgipsee Gulch is the only trail in that area that will test your skill and/or equipment.
