Mine has started popping right at the beginning and end of the stroke, and I think it must be the worn spot the pin the MC clutch rod rides on. Looking at your photo below makes me think this is the issue. Notice the flat, cut, worn spot on yours in the photo, at the top of the pin. I can see plenty of slop in mine with out removing it. Thinking I may need to pull the peddle assy and sleeve it or bush it somehow, or weld and grind it (Yes I bought my first wire welder :cheers.
It also seems to need some washers on either side to limit the wander side to side. I seem to have left that area as is when I fixed mine over the Christmas holidays in 2011. It started barking at me last weekend. The weld on the crack has held up very well!!!

Funny You Should Mention The Washers, I Actually Put A Few On There When I Replaced It. The Pedal I Got From The Jy Had A Good pin, No Grooves Like The Last One. Pulled So Many At The Jy I CanRemove And Replace In Like 15 Min Now Lol. But Back To The Point, If You Make The Pin Straight And Put Some Washers On It Should Be Good.
