Do as much as we can on the 8th. We'll do the axle swap while we do the lift. I'm sure we can can at least get the old trans out too.

I have a spare np231 that needs a new chain installed, have that as well. Sensors should be right for the year, but maybe not. If its needed for the 4wd conversion let me know.

mods can we add the wrenchfest date to the thread subject? so people dont have to dig for it if their stopping in for the first time
i also recommend we start a build plan wiki..... that way we can all update parts lists and keep an evolving build plan that everyone can chime in on and update in real time... if you like i could start one?

this way if you have a part you would like to donate simply add it to the parts list and the guys planning the wrenchfest can see how it fits into our plans
if you have already said what your donating please go here and add it to our list! make sure you save after you make a change

Im going to come up to help. Does he still need a grille? Any other late model front end parts? What about a dana 30 hp front axle? Itdoesnt have knuckles or shafts(which doug has covered) ill try to find the ring and pinion for it.
Will the knuckles and brakes and steering work from the 2wd housing? Just need unit bearings...?

ill bring that hp housing and maybe we can use the knuckles and brakes and steering from your lp if he would rather have a hp..... i just need to get a 3.55 r&p and carrier which i think i have somewhere at the house.
let me know if its worth bringing or if we are just going to put the lp axle in.

well if the 4wd swap is going to happen we really need a trans, case and linkage.... ive got a rear ds out of sams from when it was stock

the gears are gonna be from a different axle but they will still have the carrier attached so the shims and everything will still be on it.... as well as the pinion bearing... this shouldnt be a problem right?
im also going to bring a hd tie rod...
the housing needs new ball joints. ed do you have a ball joint press?

they should work fine the factory set them up pretty tight ive never had an issue going from housing to housing with stock stuff. if need be ive got a pile of shims that will work outside the bearing
as far as the d30 housings go we can scuttle the lp and use all the parts off of it to finish out the hp
