Have just started reading this thread...Actually only read your post before jumping in.

Can't say much about the polar bears, but I call foul on your Arctic ice not melting. Unless the source that was supplying my last employer was air brushing the ice away.

It had several of my office mates, including a high ranking one, really concerned. The last two summers one of my tasks was getting equipment (small security boats) up there for testing.

What's funny about this is that large volcanic eruptions (see, Krakatoa, 1883) actually cause global cooling for many years. Even with everything from ash to water vapor that gets blasted into the atmosphere (as high as 50 miles up in the case of Krakatoa), the Earth COOLS. The years following the cold years after Krakatoa, people love to say "wow, look at that warming trend caused by the Industrial Revolution! It was our fault!!!".....Um no genius, it's the Earth returning to a stable climate following a huge natural disaster.

Are you deaf or simply illiterate?

Where did either myself or Rod Knee say that global warming is caused solely by man?

I'm going to say it one more and I'll try explain it in very simple terms. Global warming is real. It is happening. Science can show that there is a plausible link between human activities and the warming that is occurring. But science, in my opinion, can't determine to what extent human activities are playing in global warming. Global warming could be driven by mainly solar activity. Maybe it's driven solely by CO2. Who knows? Maybe it's driven by something else entirely? It is a valid question and area of research. Why is that such a difficult concept to grasp?

Plus, I am sure as hell not worried about 1.5 degrees Celsius. I don't think anyone should be worried about global warming (unless you live in India or Africa). I've got a job (I'll be able to buy food and what not). I don't live at sea level (my house isn't going to flood). But I do hate to see the stupid infecting people.

Yes, I was stationed at Ellsworth AFB for a little over 3 years. Loved it there. Unfortunately, I'll be taking another trek around the Middle East this year (Apr-Oct) but possibly in 2011 I could make it up there. I'm sure it would be an awesome time. Have the problems with the Canadian and New Zealand data been reported (or is the reporting all limited to the UK countries)?

I ask because the news here down-under reported that it is being ignored in the USA. There is growing speculation that the USA government is ignoring the facts revealing the problems with the politicized & flawed science. The USA government is slowly being portrayed as an ignorant bully pushing an agenda, regardless of the truth (the Americans pushing their weight around to influence the meeting in Denmark before the facts are reported).

I made a few web searches for "climategate" and came up with very little in reporting from the USA (two weeks-old links from an AOL Search and zero from a CNN US-NEWS filter search). I get tens of thousands of search links here, but I receive "Your search climategate did not match any documents" when the search is limited to USA reports.

Ed, they are completely ignoring it and the only news agency that is calling for investigation is Fox.....who the White House has labeled as the "Right Wing Conspiracy" channel and not a news organization.

Big surprise here......NBC and Comcast merging to strengthen the White House channel, CBS and ABC, CNN and MSNBC are silent on the issue......Socialism is here folks.

No wonder they are attempting to delegitimize Fox, they are the only press corp that isn't on the White House payroll!!

Obama and his Socialist Party in Congress are controlling the press and massaging the news, as well as the science, to support their policies and agendas.
