So yeah. this is real f'in cool. I am good no water near me but all the counties around me are screwed Bartholomew, Johnson, Jennings, Brown, Decatur, and Jackson counties are underwater :bs::bs::bs:

I believe this is where you install an amphibious package on your XJ..... Thats what I would do.....

Austin

a bunch of jasper county illinois is flooded too. it happened in places not so populated, its a bunch of farm land. still quite a few houses that are surrounded by water. its just crazy here. we got over 7.5 inches of rain and the levee broke along the river.

I spent the night in the Rural King parking lot, got a nice hour and a half of sleep. Assisted in evacuating about 50 people, mostly elderly. At this point I have only had the 1.5 hour sleep in the last 36 hours. Seven of us pushed an aluminum boat in chest deep water for about 6 hours into and out of current filled streets. Spent today on special runs for specific items for people, meds, cleaning, supplies, etc...

No water big enough to hold that boat within 30 miles. Floated off its blocks down by the Cummins Tech Center

Super sweet wing on this thing. I still feel bad for a guy who lost his whip.

Nice field, probably varies from 3-8 feet deep

Don't feel alone guys, Iowa is flooding hardcore too. I've been fortunate since we're at about the highest spot in the city, but some of my buddies here haven't been so lucky.

If Kim hadn't had to work yesterday, I would have been in Columbus with the Knox County conservation officer doing flood rescues. Nice pics Gene!

We'll be busy the next couple days down here. The White River is approaching the top of the levees near Edwardsport and we still have a couple days until crest! The Wabash is about 1/2 way up the levee by Vincennes, not supposed to crest until Tuesday.

Holy chowder. My grandfather lives over in Greenville, and couple of my buddies have family in Columbus. I hope they aren't in that bad a shape. Those pics are pretty amazing.

You must mean Greensburg. Greenville hasn't had a drop of water in two weeks. Neither has Salem.

Some pics I recieved from a friend today. Shaffer Lake Dam.

Lake Covered in debris.

The retaining wall on the left was last seen when it was installed. It is supposed to be underground.

Water over the damn was 2+ feet deep.

Multiple layers of road can be seen.

Dreams of a true "concrete commander" or a "mall crawler"

This boat went down the spill way like a disposal. Nothing came out.

At its worst.

A few more pics are in a folder that is attached to the link in my original post.

A few pics from the Wabash river at Vincennes. Nowhere near as devastating as Columbus, but bad nonetheless.

1st Street flood gate - probably ~6' of water here:

Looking past the flood gate:

Kimmel Park picnic area:

Kimmel Park - the banks of the river are ~20' from the light pole:

Memorial Bridge:

HPIM1250.jpg

House on the IL bank that is usually 100' from water:

HPIM1251.jpg

Train bridge - looks to be no more than 10' above water - usually 30':

HPIM1253.jpg

George Rogers Clark memorial - this retaining wall is 8' tall with another wall 10' out and 10' tall:

Access to IL across the Memorial Bridge has been closed, the levee broke on the IL side, totally flooding Westport. The Dodge dealer over there wisely moved their vehicles over to Vincennes last night.

damn gene you got a lot of pictures. I guess there was a reason for that boat to be sitting in that yard after all :D

Nope, that's not it. I bet it looks similar right now though. I always thought the $.50 each way toll was dumb, but it is worth the trip.
