Central IL Trails

Recently moved to Springfield, IL from southern IL and I'm going crazy for some light offroad action. My old trails down south weren't anything major but they sure were a lot of fun. Anyone in the area want to show me around? There seems to be a serious lack of trees around here...

lol i have family in carbondale... its funny how much of a terrain difference there is in IL.... carbondale area has loads of trees/woods etc from my experience.... where the rest of il has pretty much flat "treeless" terrain...

the closest place to me to wheel is the cliffs insane terrian but that is quite the drive from springfield (btw i live in 60560) .... but if you do decide to come up to the cliffs let me know...

Hey man, Im from Virden, bout 30 minutes south of Springfield on Rt. 4, but Im living in Charleston now and go to EIU. Unfortunately, I haven't really came across anything too close. I know theres a club over in Pittsfield that runs some pretty cool trails in Pike county. Two Rivers Jeep Club maybe? Im not 100% sure if thats it or not. Theres a badlands trip coming up, march 6-8th, check the Winterfest 2009 forum for more info.

we have plenty of our own trails for members to ride on. just a hour west of springfield. we host 2 public trail rides a year so if you don't join come out for 1 of our public trail rides and see what we are about. check the web for details of joining or coming to our public rides.
