So i went to radio shack yesterday and got a cb for the run his weekend. But i'm thinking the guy missed something. I got the ball type adapter, and a loaded whip, but the coaxial from the back of the radio has no way of connecting to the whip. Anyone have a way to fix this? or do i have to delay my morning and be at radio shack at 9 instead of on the hill???

Cut the end off and seperate the outer weave from the inner core. The outer weave gets a round spade terminal that connects to the base(ground) of the ball and the inner wire connects to other terminal. Heat shrink tubing works great to seal it off. I am in Wilsonville and would be able to assist tomorrow after 11AM if you still need help. I should be doing last minute tech before Saturday at this time. Send me a PM with your contact info and we can make arrangements.

Where'd you find a radio shack with cb radios? Everytime I've been into one in the last several years, they're clueless...

Lol, the letters are from when i was younger. punx. I had a mohawk and was one of those guys... The radio shack in beaverton on cedar hills blvd. But they dont really know what they are doing. They just have the stuff.

you have to ground every antenna. stick with me here, the antenna is actualy only half of the antenna system, the body of the vehicle is the other half (counterpoise (sp?)). the coax plays a part with lenth in my world but for random communications it dont matter.

did that help at all?:gee:
