you are correct, i love KY. only problem is most of my camping/backpacking this year is based around 2-3 day weekends. KY is a bit of a drive from chicago.
not that i would be against taking an extra day or two off work.
JJ. If you want to explore the upper peninsula of Michigan and do some camping / hiking. You owe it to yourself to spend some time in the " Porkies"

this place is a hikers dream, water falls all over the place great trails of all different difaculty. Lake superior...it is a huge park. tara and i have been to every place on the upper peninsula and you get all of it in this park. Hit me up on the back channel if you have any questions about camp site and such....they also have really cool cabins and yurts that are hike in only....

JJ - the Hoosier National is pretty cool if you want to head down here. Legit backpacking in the Midwest with a designated wilderness area that has a border on the largest lake in the state.
Went out a couple weeks ago...hiked out about 1.5 hours, camped near the lake, saw some bald eagles, casted a few lines...I still have a lot to explore. Let me know if you want to head south.
June 28th would be a good weekend to come to the Badlands. There will be a WE ROCK event and a KOH Qualifier race going on.
