Well IMO and Exo cage is worthless unless it's tied into a good internal cage...
Obviously, Exo cages are easier to construct/weld... but they weigh alot more and require a lot more tube...
The next cage I do will be internal w/ an external halo...
will I be able to seal the interior from the weather ? or will I suffer from interior leaks ?
uhm... you could use bolts and plates. thats ALOT easier to seal than a 1.75" DOM tube going through the roof...
just a thought, not sure if it was assumed or not.
Wouldn't the flexing of the unibody tend to "tear" the metal if you welded the tubes to it? I wouldn't mind tying something like a halo bar to mine but not sure I would want to weld it to the roof. Just curious.
IIRC his went up through the front fenders but wasn't welded to them and ran up the "A" pillar then down the roof line and tied to the rear bumper and along the way it was welded to the drip rail/roof. It didn't actually go through the roof though. rredalty, chime in here. I don't really remember.
i believe tims does through the roof... theres an interior piece at the b pillar like a conventional cage... tims is one of my favorites, simply because it goes all the way to the front bumper but its hidden, providing clean bracing for the front framehorns which are mostly neglected when bracing the body
