Cage Build

yeah Lou, it looks really clean. I am really digging this cage man. I love the way you ended up welding it by dropping it through the floor.

yeah I want to copy the through the floor holes idea. Who knows, maybe ill try to do an all interior cage as well.

I need to get on the site more often.
You got a lot done in one month. I too like the look of the XJ so keeping the cage inside does make sense but so does on the outside to keep you from crushing the body. Good thing I am not ready to build a cage anytime soon.

Finally found some time to finish this project up.

Supports for the rear pillars welded in and primed.

Tie ins to the unibody rails and rockers.

Everything painted up and ready for the interior to be reinstalled.

And my favorite little detail of this whole build...a Stinky Fab Racing fire extinguisher mount.

It was a lot of work but I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out. Big thanks to Jes for all the help.

Looks great! We gotta get that Atlas in next then I'll be getting the GheyJ ready for next Summer! :greensmok

Lou that looks awesome! Ill take one please!

I can help with that atlas soon as well.

Thanks man. Let me know when you want to start wrenching on the GheyJ. I'll be more than happy to come drink beer and cheer you on.

Dude that looks killer... how much tube you end up using?

I used a little over four sticks. if I remember correctly, I ordered 120 feet of .120 wall and 20 feet of .188. I never touched the .188 wall and still have a stick and a half of the .120.

I can buy some tube off you if you don't need it all. But I think you might want to use it for tube fenders or slider extensions.

wil the JD2 bend the .188?
