Cadillac Hill impassable?

I dont know who of you have been to the rubicon recently, but I got a report from this last weekend that said their is a raging river going down cadillac hill and that it is impassable even for the baddest of jeeps. They said everybody had to be winched all the way up cadillac.

Hopefully someone can give a report. I will be doing an exploration trip from the tahoma side in a couple of days, and will report back about what I find. I have a full trip coming up this weekend, and am hoping to make it all the way through, but I don't have a winch. so a lot will depend on if the trail improves between now and then.

I did talk to my dad late last night, about how the Rubicon was, and all he said was that it was much harder this year than 06 & 07.. I'll ask about Cadillac Hill though today.

Alright so my dad said Cadillac Hill was more challenging than before because of some boulder... he said none in his club had to be winched though. His club had 13 Jeeps, and 2 Bronco's out there. All had 33"s or bigger, and lockers.

That was this past weekend... fyi

Thanks for the update.

The spill way at loon is over flowing!

Gatekeeper is closed!

Wentworth is on fire!

Cadillac Hill is now a river!

I have heard a lot of them . . .

I wonder who put that bolder in the way? :eyes:

False alarm

My bad, I just heard back that those guys were all pulling trailers, which is why they had to be winched. Thanks for the update Tenny.
.

Yeah no big deal just seems like every year there is some new rommer about the trail, at least you posted up and put a stop to the spread of the bad infromation.

The Spillway over flowing at loon lake got lots of people to freek out.

I ll be going up this weekend also with our club, wandering wheelers. Going in from loon lake Saturday morning. Give us shout, we will be on channel 4.

Man... this got my attention as Cadillac Hill was nowhere near as hard as folks made it out to be. I was hoping that there was going to be some challenge now ;)

Has anyone attempted this with 31" tires and limited slip diffs? I've been through the Gatekeeper through Wentworth Springs this way and did fairly well. I'm concerned about the more difficult parts of the trail.

With good rocker protection and bumpers you can. Just pic your lines wisely.

Thanks. I just bought a set of JKS swaybar discos and am hoping it will help. I am also getting some new protection for the diffs. This XJ will eventually be my kid's Jeep to take to college next year. I don't want to see him cry if I go bang bang.
