If I show up without a hood and my airbox sticking out will they still smog me or fail because the box is moved.
Would it need to be "permanently" affixed?

And are their any aftermarket Renix air intakes legal in CA or is it still just Spectre.

Thanks for your help.

IIRC, no aftermarket renix intakes available. Hood and box placement shouldn't matter as long as factory items are attached correctly.

It all depends on the smog tech checing your rig. Personally, I would fail it as it indicates that the parts were only temporarily reinstalled for the smog test. I wouldn't risk my license or getting a possible citation on something like that.

A better idea would be to remove whatever is in the stock airbox location and make sure the box is installed in the original orientation.

dude slap all the stock smog stuff on for the test. It doesnt take long. You will get a visual fail even if it passes emissions.

That's why I was thinking doing some ghetto bracket would make him feel better. Maybe just seeing the other junk that sticks out of the hood will.
The coilover hoop goes right where the stock box does along with my hydroboost lines.

Man. Im not really sure what to say about that situation. it seems like your rig would trailer only , green sticker? you better do research on some sorta smog legal renix era CAI.

It will be trailered but there are too many trails that require some road use. :(
I'll give it a shot.
