thats not the unibody yoy see thats the sway bar his bumper cover just bottom part of it. Metal is coming down in price so thats a good thing. I might end up with one of chips reciver bumpers for the camping XJ Chips put some good time and research into those. I'm all about doing it your self too. I did my own front reciver bumper and plan on doing a new one when it comes time for a winch bumper.
So just take your time do alot of mocking up on it. Tack all your stuff up place it on the bumper make all the changes and it will come out good. Don't be in a rush and you'll be just fine.
try and tie in the tabs to more than just the front of it. I did mine out of 2x4 so I have them welded front and back. Seen a few that have been pulled on in the past and have cracks. Thats one part of your bumper you don't want to fail
