Build thread: Out of Misery, again...

You can always mount the solenoid box somewhere else and clean the winch up.

Me and Mac got coupons for a zeon at KOH, but it was only good till the end of February.

I'm thinking of mounting it inside the bumper, just don't have the time right now to mess with it.

This will make a nice winch to replace the pos winch I have on my trailer some day.

Believe it when I see it :)

I had a winch that I was going to put on my trailer...then I sold my rig and bought another one and had to put the old winch back on the newtome rig...

mac 'still trying to get a winch on my trailer' gyvr

Trailer I borrow all the time to pick up wrecks has a warn xd8000i. I've stalled it out before pulling crap on. Rollers no problem but if you get one that doesn't roll....

Pulleys and extra line. I've pulled 8k lb pieces of gear inside the plane with a winch rated to 5k on 2 pulleys rigged to lighten the load.

A snatch block makes half the work.

If you have the time to rig it up. Seems like I'm always running behind but.... Ya work with what ya got.

Some folks never got that lesson in 8th grade science class. If you can get the snatch block on the front of the jeep, you can run the cable back to the front of the trailer and winch it up with a lot less load on the winch.

The trick is to get it up on the flat part of the trailer so you can undo the block and single line pull it the rest of the way before you run out of room.

Or you can unhook the trailer, hook a recovery strap to the back of the truck, chock the trailer wheels and pull the dead vehicle up on the trailer. Not that I would do that, because it's dangerous, but I know a guy ;)

You should have seen the rigging we had set up to get Clown Puke on the trailer. Tires turned hard right and two were flat. No keys and it was backed into a corner.

I was sooo glad I had a good winch on the trailer that day.

Get everything plugged in that's supposed to be. Start it, let if run then unhook the batt and reset the computer. With so many mixed and matched parts the computer probably needs time to adjust. Also look for vac leaks.
